These are not common lizards in Melbourne, but occasionally get located as escaped pets. The snake handler in Manningham is Raymond Hoser. He lives in Park Orchards and regularly gets called to catch snakes in Doncaster, Templestowe, Lower Templestowe, Bulleen, Balwyn, Eltham and Wonga Park, as well as Warrandyte and Research. He is the best known snake handler in Melbourne and Australia. He has worked as a snake catcher doing reptile removals for decades.
1880's sports cards by Baines, Briggs, Outhwaite and others on a c.1890 homemade display. It cost this publisher owner some £1000's, in 2024 and it took him a lot of difficult negotiating and costly travels, to get hold of it. Worth every moment to have such a piece of history
Soon it will be to USA to aid the producers of the forthcoming book on Baines cards
Women's soccer cards, the oldest extant, ladies football from 1920-21 issued in Bradford, Yorkshire GB as children's gaming & collecting cards, yes, just 2-3 years after World War One! These are exceedingly rare, all are originals: The Dick Kerr card is the easiest, about 5 being known worldwide. The others are far rarer, much much rarer than diamonds: Manningham Mills Girls (Baines' own team), Leeds Ladies & Odsal Ladies, all made by the Baines family in 1920-21 - ahead of Panini by 80 years! Baines started early 1880's, Panini early 1960's. That's almost 3 generations on Panini
a basic W G Grace timeline, cards by J. Baines and W.N. Sharpe, 1883 to 1899. Note: there are images not included here, such as two mostly white cards from c.1896, a blue and white card of Grace for Gloucestershire and a black and gold card of Grace for England, with "cricket caps and belts" advertising backs. Grace cards are about as rare as they come, in sports cards! Some of them are earlier than baseball cards, too!

1889 & 1891 Baines cards, the shield card shown at left being the earlier of the two. Baines was known for redesigning and reproducing images of cards he'd sold out of. This is a perfect example, just two years apart the die for the earlier shape, a classic Briggs-style shield with tilted-up corners may have worn out; or was it the frame line which fell out of favour? The legend is certainly more visible on the later card.
