Mikey also never liked or shown any interest in romance before, because he didn’t see anyone that even had caught his attention, nor has he seen any of his classmates in such perspective.

He also thinks that people his age are way too immature, and also not that proper if you may say it.

He’d always see some girls in his class missing a couple of teeth, and even guys who have some snot on their nose clearly sticking out. 

In general, Mikey just thinks it’s impossible for him to see anyone in a romantic perspective.

That is until, you came into the picture, you weren’t that mature yourself, although you were kinda proper, or what’s the word for it exactly?

Mikey didn’t take any interest in you, but he could tell that you somehow have something for him? You even told him about how cool he is in your eyes, and yata yata.

With Shinichiro’s help, Mikey told him about how you kept on complimenting him, even if it’s not necessary, and even checking from time to times, and even getting worried even tho there was no reason for you to be like that.

Shin told Mikey that maybe you had a crush on him, Mikey thought a bit for a while, and as much as he thinks about it, there was noone who likes him, not in a romantic way, some are scared of him, respected him, and just liked him as friends,

But noone... ABSOLUTELY noone ever had a crush on him, as much as he never had a crush on someone, so this info that he got, didn’t just made him amused,

It made his ego burst... like literally

He was so smug about it even that he told his friends about it that “ Hey, did you know they liked me? Shin told me so! “ he would brag and brag. Even to his mother who just said “ Wow, really? “

His friends never believed him, but they did have a second thought when Mikey mentioned about how you compliment him in unnecessary times, you get worried easily, and many other.

Of course, with that in Mikey’s thought, he would then always go to school not just to study or anything, but also to find out and show his friends that you really really liked him

It actually went as that, you were just in your classroom, doing nothing but scribbling something in your paper, that was until Mikey approached you with Sanzu and Baji behind him.

Baji and Sanzu stilll did not believe but they’ll see then.

Mikey looked at you quite stoicly to which you were nervous at... why was he looking at you like that?

Mikey then looked at the paper you were scribbling at before looking at you in the eyes as you covered your paper. “ Hey “ Mikey called out only for you to start getting nervous... did you do something wrong? Do you need to give him dorayaki?

“ You like me, right? “ Mikey asked bluntly... don’t blame the poor boy, he was never used to this type of things, so it’s not actually his fault, for not knowing how to do these.

You only had a ‘O’ shaped mouth with a scrunched nose... you were confused but just as his words began to sink, your face started becoming pink... then red..

Baji and Sanzu just looked at the scene unfolding as you sat there frozen, with Mikey still looking at you for answers, and you were really really red

.

You looked down before covering your face and then looking at the other side as much to Miikey’s displeasure.

He called for you as you faced him once more confident that the red color is now gone... but turns out it wasn’t

.

Mikey thought that you were sick judging by how red you are, and with that, he touched your forehead with a still stoic face, you were becoming much more redder as you burst out of the classroom while covering your face in the process...

You were like Flash, Mikey Baji and Sanzu didn’t even see you running out of the classroom...

.

Mikey was just confused, Baji and Sanzu finally got it, and they both looked at Mikey with grins.

Mikey locked his eyes on the ground in deep thought ‘ They ran... are they scared of me? ‘ Mikey pondered

Still in deep thought, Mikey was cut off when his friends cutted him off of his thoughts “ So you weren’t lying! They really do like you! “ Baji said as Sanzu nodded

.

Mikey was confused once more “ No... seems like I was wrong... ” Mikey said... he didn’t know why he was sad that you turned out to not like him, but he thought it’s probably because now he has noone that he knows who likes him romantically,

It was as if he liked the fact someone liked him romantically, he didn’t know why, probably because the thought of someone liking him romantically, never happened before, and the fact that you do like him in that way, just boosts his ego.

His friends then scoffed clearly in denial “ What? No, you should’ve seen their face! It was a blushing mess! They’re totally into you, dude! ” Sanzu said

.

“ Huh? ” Now Mikey was even more confused “ They seemed sick, probably why they were red “ Mikey said only to earn a facepalm from Baji as he grasped his friend’s shoulder “ Are you somehow really dumb? “

Mikey looked at Baji quite offendedly as Baji backed off before clearing his throat then looking at Mikey with a sly grin “ That was not because their sick you dumbass, they were blushing “ Baji pointed out as Sanzu bakced his words

Mikey thought for a bit as a small grin made it’s way to his lips “ Gotta brag about this to mom, Emma, Gramps and Shin ” he said seemingly emphasizing the name of his brother.

Baji an.d Sanzu only looked at eachother before imagining Shinichiro’s face knowing that his brother might possibly date someone before him.

Mikey already dashed out of the classroom on his way to brag about as Sanzu and Baji looked at eachother “ I wish someone would also like me... romantically “ Baji said

Sanzu just hummed in respone

It has been a few days now, and it was kinda chaotic for you, you have Mikey literally seeing you from mtime to time, totally not because he was scared you would lose feelings for him

Mikey’s ego was boosted because of you, and he won’t let you lose feelings for him like that, he felt nice knowing someone likes him romantically, and he somehow doesn’t want the feeling of being wanted romantically to be gone, it just somehow doesn’t sit right with him,

It’s not everyday someone would like someone like him, so there’s no way he’d lose the thing that’s making him feel good about himself, he also brags about it to his mother daily, about how you would easily get worried for him, and even complimented him about how strong he is.

All in all, you make Mikey feel good about himself, and no... he doesn’t have any feelings for you, nor is he planning on reciprocating it. And he doesn’t know, that that very reason, is what’ll make him lose you...

Mikey seemed to like you, or so you thought... so this time, your planning on confessing to him even, probably because you just couldn’t help it, Mikey and you are still kids but you thought on telling him that by the time you guys reach the desired age, you guys shall then date...

Not like you were desperate or anything, you just can’t help but worry that might happen to him and you couldn’t tell your feelings by then... it just sounded wrong

So here you were, watching Mikey fight

Mikey loves how you compliment him, his mother said that he also used to compliment his father whenever he would do something good, 

so he wants you to do the same to him... tell him how awesome he is, how great he is, how you would not fall for anyone but him... he wants those words out of your mouth.

But you decided to tell him something different than a compliment today...

Mikey finished his fight as you sweatdropped and went to him a bit worried...

“ Are you okay? “ you asked sincerely

Mikey just nodded before awaiting for your compliment as he whistled innocently

“ Uhm... I got something to say “ you murmured with fidgeted hands... Mikey thought that a compliment is what’ll come out of your mouth, but what you said, caught him off guard...

“ I like you... do you feel the same for me? “ you asked him with hopeful eyes s you clasped both your hands together.

Mikey just looked at you for a while... he isn’t used to this type of stuff as I said, so, with stupidity, he literally just had to say it... bluntly even

“ I don’t,... but you do like me, right? “ Mikey asked...

You didn’t know what came over you.... at that part, Mikey also somehow felt that he just did the most awful things ever. He made you cry

Tears came streaming down your cheeks, you weren’t sniffing... you didn’t have any expressions, you just stood still, frozen, and tears were still streaming down

You were unaware of your tears as you were busy comprehending what he had just said... he didn’t like you... so why did he make it as if he did?

Why’d he hang out with you? Why did he want you complimenting him, why did he enjoy the way you worried for him, and even gave him presents as he treasured those deeply.... if he not like you, Why’d he treat you like that? Did he trick you? Into thinking he likes you?

You became aware of your tears as you tried wiping them but to no avail as they still kept streaming down... you felt tricked... you felt wronged... and with that, you ran off as Mikey tried going after you but stopped

Mikey just looked at you as you disappeared

Mikey headed to the hospital to visit his mom....

“I don’t understand.... they like me, so why” Mikey said questioning your actions from the other day

His mother just looked at Mikey with a low frown and with a deep sigh, she patted the bed for Mikey to get closer to her as he did...

“Do you really not know anything about romance, Manjiro?” his mother asked only to recieve a nod

“Let me tell you what you did wrong” his mother said as Mikey fixed his seat to properly look at his mother

“If you were to like someone... would you like them to feel the same?” his mother asked and Manjiro just shrugged... he was completely clueless

.

His mother sighed before looking at Mikey “Do you know why me and your father ended up together?” she asked as Mikey shaked his head ‘no’

.

“It’s because we confessed to eachother of course, that was the starting point of our relationship” his mother continued as Mikey listened intently

“We confess to eachother by telling our feelings to eachother, because how would we end up together if we do not know what the other felt, right?” Mikey’s mother continued as Mikey’s brow scrunched

“You mean what N/n did the other day...”

.

.

“They were confessing to you, Manjiro, they wanted you to know, their feelings for you... and they want you to reciprocate it” His mother continued before patting Mikey’s head

“Now it’s up to you, wether you liked them back or not” 

.

“How would I know I liked them back?” Mikey asked

.

“You said they kept complimenting you, right?” Mikey’s mother asked and Mikey just nodded

“And they kept worrying for you, and kept on giving you gifts, and others, right?” his mom continued and Mikey just nodded once more

“Well, did you enjoy those times?” his mother asked and Mikey thought deeply as his mom continued “How would you feel if they don’t like you anymore?” Mikey’s mother asked... and he just felt his heart drop

Mikey couldn’t understand this feeling... but he didn’t like it “I don’t want it... I don’t like the feeling” Mikey said and his mother just smiled “Is that so? Then, I’m pretty sure you’ll know what to do at this point, you have school tomorrow right? Go on” his mom told

Mikey just nodded before thinking deeply once more

You were walking around, still thinking about yesterday, you were thinking about apologizing, since that was so immature of you, it’s Mikey’s choice to not like you... so if he doesn’t like you, then so be it

You were walking around ‘til Baji appeared catching you off guard but you remained your posture soon “Oh... Baji-san” you said with a small smile

Baji just grinned at you before gesturing for you to follow him and with a confused face, you just did... you were thinking on also asking him for Mikey’s whereabouts

You guys stopped to a place where you see Mikey talking to Sanzu, and you could feel nervousment creeping through you once again... the replay of what happened...

Mikey caught sight of you and you could swear you felt yourself freezing up on the spot... and your heart beating faster... Were you really that inlove with him?

Mikey smiled at you as Sanzu and Baji excused themself saying they’ll go and buy snacks

You were fidgeting and Mikey then spoke up... with you

“I’m sorry” you both said

.

Mikey was raising an eyebrow as you also did... It took a couple of minutes but just as you were about to speak, Mikey cutted you off “Here” he said while handing you a taiyaki... you were confused

“Eh?” you said “Take it” he told and you just looked at him before taking the snack

.

.

You were confused, you really were but you kept quiet...

.

.

“Listen, I’m really sorry, I was really too caught up by the fact that you like me romantically, that I never thought about anything else other than that...” he said “I don’t know I feel the same, but--

.

.

“It’s fine” you cutted off “I’m just thankful that you realized... but don’t feel sorry about not liking me back, because it’s completely reasonable... I have no right to force you into liking me Sano-san”

Mikey just looked at you before rubbing the back of his neck and then offering you his hand “Can we still be friends tho? I really like your company” he suggested... and with a smile you just agreed

“But...” you said as Mikey listened closely “I will try my best to make you fall for me... watch me” you told only for Mikey to widen his eyes for a bit before grinning at you “I’m not the type to fall easily, so goodluck” he said with a grin

You just laughed it out before nodding in understanding as Baji and Sanzu finally arrived... “Were back!” Baji yelled and Sanzu just handed Mikey and you some snacks...

“You guys finally made up!” Sanzu said only for you to nod.... and Mikey aswell

It has been a few months after that... and it’s currently Valentine’s day, your classmates giving eachother chocolates, and even to other classrooms, and you got something to give to someone... but not chocolate

You kept the thing hidden as class was dismissed your planning on giving it to Mikey...

Mikey, Sanzu, his new friend Draken, and Baji, are walking...

.

.

You then followed up behind “Wait!” you called out catching their attention

.

.

You looked at Mikey before grabbing his hand and then dragging him somewhere only for the other guys to deadpan “I feel kinda left out” Baji said

.

“Nah, just leave them be” Sanzu said as they continued talking...

.

.

You stopped in your tracks before looking at Mikey with pink hues on your cheeks as you had something on your back

.

.

Mikey was confused but also curious not until he had the grip “Are you gonna give me chocolates? Bring it on! I’m hungry” he said

.

.

You giggled but after a short moment, you then presented him what you made yourself.... Mikey was a bit shock... it seems

.

It was a boquete but instead of flowers, it was Taiyaki arranged neatly... Mikey was baffled... he was thinking that maybe you’d give him chocolates, but this much more better....

.

.

“I... I baked these myself with some help... but I arranged it mostly! Do you... like it?” you asked nervously and Mikey just scoffed with a smile “Like it? I freakin love it!” he exclaimed before grabbing the boquete and then munching on a taiyaki

.

You were caught off guard but you felt proud of yourself... you just made Mikey smile... genuinely... how nice <3

.

You just looked at Mikey with a close eyed smile... you were truly happy that he liked it... the others then appeared out of nowhere “You guys done?” Draken yelled as you faced them with smile “Yeah!”

Mikey then looked at you for a moment... your smiling face, your really great attitude, and literally everything about you... maybe he might give this thing with you a chance...
