➰Happy #manicmakermonday➰ • It’s hard to believe it’s Monday again but here we are! I hope everyone had a good week. • As I shared yesterday, KBD was accepted into our first summer market ever! Naturally I’m super nervous about it. If you haven’t noticed, winter knits are my go to. Cozy, chunky, and warm knits to make the soul happy on a cold winter day. That’s my comfort zone. • Happiness and excitement are also coursing through me! I immediately purchased two summer top patterns from @saraknitsco and cranked out four tops already! This time last year I never would have thought to sign up for a summer market, to leave my comfort zone. I’m more excited than nervous (for now lol) and look forward to composing a beautiful summer booth. Seeing this growth in my confidence and business are motivating me even more. Hello friends! • I thought it was time to do another introduction post! It seems like it’s been a while and this is a great reason to show off Rin’s gorgeous photography. Here’s a little bit about me, the maker behind KBD! -I’ve been knitting for almost 5 years now. Wow it’s odd realizing that! Time flies! - My other passion is coffee! I’m a barista at an amazing local coffee shop. Where I’m learning everyday. My experience in running my business and managing social media aided in becoming their Social Media Coordinator! For the first time in a long time, I’m extremely happy with my career path. -I was a field hockey goalie in college and miss it everyday. -I’m an aunt to three beautiful Nieces with a nephew on the way! (Extra fun fact: It will be the first boy on my moms side in three generations) -I try my best to eat vegetarian...damn sushi 🍣.... -did I say I love coffee? ➰Personal Knit➰ • Where are all my “selfish” knitters at? All of you put your hands down! Now where are all my “personal” knitters at? Everyone get those hands up! Lol • One of my pet peeves are when we, as makers, consider a personal project selfish. For almost two years, I carried that mind set of I don’t have time for my own projects, all my time needs to go into KBD. When the new year hit I was determined to change that. After finishing up late holiday gifts I dove right into a Twisted Twin Beanie for myself and now a Beginner Raglan by @knitatude! Let me tell you how great it feels to take time for myself. It doesn’t feel selfish. It feels inspiring. • I picked an easier project but one that was still pushing my comfort zone. Pushing myself has inspired me to push myself some more. • With the discussion of racism and privilege in our community, that comfort zone was pushed to the max but I’m ready to bust past it. ➰Bring on Spring➰ • As much as I love winter, I’m over this up and down weather. Gross cold rain is not my type of winter. I don’t particularly have a favorite season. They all are lovely in their own ways and I find myself appreciate them all.
