My favorite book, when I was very small, was The Monster at the End of this Book Starring Lovable, Furry Old Grover. Grover hears about this monster and he tries so very hard--with ropes, chains, a wall--to keep you from getting to the end of the book. But turn those pages you must and when you get there, the monster is lovable, furry old Grover.
So of course I love monsters. With general apologies, particularly to anyone within earshot, running through my head over and over is “I have 43 Monsters and a b*tch ain’t one.” I love Charlie Wedster’s monsters. I love how Arthur Bradford gave them life. They are lovable, and if not furry, they are charming, dancing, wonderful fire-breathing friends.
