Cebu’s first ever wing eating contest drew 8 participants.  Among the participants were 2 girls. During the elimination round, the contestants were given a plate of 2o chicken wings.  To qualify for the finals they have to eat as much chicken wings as possible in one minute and they have to rank among the top 3.

The top 3 after the first round were Kenzo, Ryan from Bacolod, and Jasmine of Beauty and Beyond.  The three finalists were allowed to rest a bit to prepare for the final round.  In the final round of wing eating contest, the budding competitive eaters were given an order of the Gibbs’ Hot Wings with Mango Silly Sauce.  This special sauce of the newest item at Gibbs’ is a combination between Cebu’s famous Mangoes and Senyor Silly Hot Sauce.

The competition between the two male finalists was pretty intense. Kenzo took the early lead and he was able to edge Ryan by half a wing to be declared Cebu’s first ever Wing King.

Runners-up: Ryan and Jasmine

Kenzo is expected to defend his title in January as Gibbs’ Hot Wings will organize another chicken wing eating contest during the Sinulog season. If you think you have it takes to dethrone Cebu’s Wing King then you have 3 months to prepare.
