Guardians of the Games, page 5
New page for GOTG!! I hope this lights up your April Fool’s Day if you’ve been having a bad day overall
Mascotverse au where specific mascots from olympics get possessed by shards that came from the rings, only the black ring is able to de-possess them and purify them
Mandeville somehow survived the possession of this creepy ahh hivemind
Lemme explain the shards:
Green makes the vessel silent and more smart, making them a deadly being that knows exactly what to do to get what they want.
Red makes the vessel really fast and anxious, often worrying about what could and what would happen. If they see danger, THEY SCRAM!
Yellow makes the vessel...joyful of their disturbing actions, depending on the ability of the vessel they can destroy and hurt people without thinking (not like they could..) all while having a scary smile on their face.
Blue makes the vessel quite lonely, wanting to avoid competition all together and destroying those against their sloth and depression.

In case you're wondering like I was: the reason why a lot of the 18th-century philosophers can't seem to stop making Cato the Younger references (Voltaire talks about Cato at least 6 or 7 times in Letters on England which is a lot because it's by no means a long text. Mandeville too of course — hi bestie!)
is because there was a play in the early 1700s about Cato (Addison's Cato, a Tragedy to be precise) which seemed to have had the cultural impact of early seasons of Game of Thrones
Catoo! this actor is from an 1800s production but still. Look at that facial expression. The sad wet cat energy. The pain in his eyes. It's all there!
Oh, and by 'cultural impact of Game of Thrones' I don't mean an increase in theatre subscriptions or of Cato action figures sales (though that would have been awesome!)
I mean it had a pretty significant influence on many of the American Revolutionaries (and French too most likely, since, cultural osmosis and all that). A lot of these nerds sure loved to quote it!
SORRY I JUST HAD TO-
if i had a nickel for every time i fixated on a pair of metal cyclopes with orange-blue theming, i would have 2 nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
