Dream’s reach is absolutely out of this world and sometimes it’s easy to understate it like without mentioning this guy anywhere outside of Twitter, he managed to get this guy to not only the top of the Twitch charts for the week but also? That stream made him the #27 English streamer when ranked by peak viewership of ALL TIME. He edged out Wilbur’s record on twitchtracker (which generally lags behind the actual peak viewership) and is currently sitting behind xQc and Hasan on that leaderboard. I decided to spend some more time with my Secret of Mana piece and add the mana sword area to the foreground. I must say I am really happy with how it turned out, it felt like it was missing something and I think that this brought it to a new level! Is a Manatree a cross between a manatee and a tree? I can’t quite wrap my brain around how that would work (perhaps it really alludes to a tree that emits... mana?), but this Virginian band has us wrapped around their fingers with new song On and On. The band began in 2010 as a collaboration between longtime friends, drawing on influences such as Wilco, the Strokes, and Maps & Atlases to create melodically infectious songs with complex instrumentals and energetic live shows. A self titled debut was released in 2015, after which their band went through a roster shake up. They also delved into more experimental and electronic sounds as they evolved. Now, as a duo, they return with a pop heavy single that’s stolen our hearts right away with its sophisticated constitution, whimsical strings, and dewy lulling vocals, kind of like Rainbow Kitten Surprise meets Lewis Del Mar. The duo’s next album, Engines, is a combination of indie rock, pop, and electronica, and it’s an attempt to evoke complex emotions through simple, accessible songs. Engines will be self-released on July 12th. On and On is its irresistible lead single. You can find their past releases on Bandcamp, here.
