As a matter of fact, the roots of Managed Security Service providers can be traced back to the 1990s with Internet Service Providers (ISPs). At that juncture, some ISPs began bestowing their user’s firewall appliances in particular. Moreover, if the user preferred, the ISP would also manage that firewall for them subsequently. In the meantime, the concept of the specialized Managed Security Service Provider evolved, with organizations specifically rendering outsourced security services.
