It’s an absolute treasure to be able to cover this song. I’ve been following BoA since I first heard her sing “Every Heart” for the ending of InuYasha. At the time, being as ignorant as I was as a tween, I had no idea that she was singing in Korean when I bought her Atlantis Princess album. Ugh. Face palm. I’m so ashamed of my ignorant 13 year-old-self *sigh*. ANYWAY. I grew to love her after I realized that she sang in both Korean and Japanese; it’s what made me realize that I also wanted to sing in different languages.
On to Tales of Graces f ~! This was the first Tales of game I ever got my mitts on, and it made me feel like I missed out on half of my life. I’ve now made it my absolute mission to cover all of the Tales of songs and buy all of the Tales of Festival DVDs. I’m going to go back and play this again when I get the chance...
Few songs can make me want to cry from just hearing the opening notes, but BoA’s Mamoritai ~White Wishes~ is one that does it for me. Part of it is how great the song is, but then all the memories from Tales of Graces start coming back and there are few games that have hit me as hard in the “soul” as the game did. I need to replay it again soon, it’s not been long since I last did, but I want to experience it over and over.
Just some random thoughts of mine as I desperately try to cheer myself up in my current depressed state by listening to some of my favourite music.
