If requests are open, may we ask parts 2 of those recent Mammon angst? I crave for a conclusion
Alright, I can do a conclusion XD Summary: Diavolo allows Mammon to become a human and resign from being the Avatar of Greed, but allows him six more days to get everything together.. Jeez, this turned out much longer then I thought lmao. Genre: Angsty Fluff ---
What was suppose to be surprise birthday party led to a somber event where the brothers realized that they were going to lose Mammon. Everyone went home while Diavolo and Mammon talked privately. Much later, dinner came about in the House of Lamentation, but no one really ate, everyone's minds still trying to process that they were going to lose Mammon, who didn't even come out of his room. MC looks at the brothers and sighs. "Listen." They start, getting everyone's attention. "Before Mammon goes, I can try to convince him to spend time with every one of you, but I'm not a miracle worker." They were caged into a hug by Beel, MC sighs and pats his arm before he let go, a frown on his face. --- There was a knock on Mammon's door and he groans from the bed, flipping to the other side to face away from the door. MC walks in and made their way to the bed. "Mams?" "...What?" "I... I want to propose an idea." Mammon turns to face the human with a raised eyebrow. "You don't have to, but.. you have six days left, so do you think you could spend time with the others?" "...Why should I?" "They are going to miss you.." That earned a snort from Mammon as he sat up. "Really?" "Don't you remember how they were at the castle? Yes really." MC sighs. "I'm not forcing you, I know they treated you horribly, so if you don't want to, I will go tell them that." Silence was all Mammon’s answer was as he looks around his soon to be abandoned room, seeing some trinkets on the tables and shelves that reminded him of the so called brothers. It was understandable that he was going to miss the brothers, it’s not like he really wanted to leave them, he loved them, but he couldn’t bear the feelings they brought upon him. “Fine, I guess I can.. Least I can do before I go..” He murmurs. MC smiles and squeezes his hand before getting up. “Alright, I’ll go tell them.” They walk off, leaving Mammon to watch as they leave and just sit there in silence. Why was he shaking? Out of fear of facing his “brothers” again? Because he was going to miss them? Mammon didn’t like it regardless.. --- First day, the twins. Mammon was thankful they were the easiest to talk to. The traveling carnival was in the Devildom, so like times before, they went there. “I’m not too heavy, am I?” Mammon snorts as he carries Belphie on the back with Belphie clinging onto him like a koala. “You’re as light as a feather!” “Good.” Beel and Mammon laugh as Belphie nuzzles his face into the second eldest’s neck. Mammon decided that for the last days he would be here, he might as well spend his grimm, and so he got food from food stalls and won little prizes for the twins, it may of been those crappy carnival game toys, but it meant a lot to Beel and Belphie. Mammon felt bad for doing this to the twins, especially Belphie. They lost Lilith, who they were probably the closest to, and now they were going to lose another they were close with? After a ride, they found a spot to sit, and Mammon stared at the ground, catching Belphie’s attention. The youngest poked his face with a huff, which caught Beel’s attention “What’s with that face?” Mammon huffs back and playfully swats it away, sighing right after. “..You guys ain’t mad at me for anything, are ya?” “If you’re talking about your decision to become human.. no.” Belphie slumps back. "I’m not ether-” Beel interjects. “I think it’s understandable.. As long as you’re happy, I’m happy.” Mammon chuckles, that was typical of Beel, always putting the ones he cared about first. “..I’m sorry for the way I reacted at the castle, by the way..” Belphie crosses his arms. “..I know it’s not my place to tell you what you can and can’t do..” “..Thanks, it was a pretty fair reaction, honestly..” There was a loud growl, interrupting Belphie and Mammon’s conversation. “I’m hungry...” The other two broke into a fit of laughter, eventually joined by Beel as Mammon stood up. “There’s a food stall I’ve been wanting to try, how ‘bout we go there?” The other two agree and the three make their way to the food stall, recounting fond memories and laughing together. --- Second day, Asmodeus. Mammon and Asmo decided to hit the town as the way to spend time together, riding in Mammon’s Demonio 666 Lexura, which he was going to give to whatever brother wanted it when he left. There were a lot of things that the brothers were going to get that Mammon couldn’t take with him, he planned to hand them down to either Levi or Asmo and Satan. They were having fun, riding around in the sports car, Asmo having chosen skimpy clothing and acting like it was a carpool, Mammon going alone with it as they rode around. Finally, they got to a hill, to relax and watch the sun go down, before Lucifer inevitably called them back. Music played as Mammon rested his head on the steering wheel. “Hey.. Before I go, live out my life as a human.. is there anythin’ I should know?” Asmo looks over and leans back, frowning. “Yea actually..” Mammon looks over, waiting for him to continue. “I.. I’m sorry, I really am.. I was too stuck up to realize the insults I directed at you were too cruel, forget being a brother, that isn’t how you treat someone in general.” Asmo frowns and looks at Mammon. “I get if you want to become human but I can’t imagine it was an easy decision.” “..It wasn’t.” Mammon sighs. None of this was easy, on him or the brothers. They’ve been a family for millennia, it wasn’t exactly easy to part with any of them “So.. no regrets?” Asmo asks, with a cheeky smile on his face Mammon chuckles. “None.” ---- Third day, Satan. These two decided to go to a cafe, feeding cats along the way. Mammon smiles as Satan fed the cats, petting them and giving them attention. He crouches beside Satan, a cat going over to him, looking for treats. Mammon gave the cat what they wanted and petted them as they ate from his hand. Satan looks over and chuckles. “Rainbow is always looking for treats.” “You named 'em?” “Hey, if I can’t bring them home, I can at least name them!” Satan huffs. “Alright alright-” Mammon chuckles, raising his hands in a playful defeat. The two continue to make their way to the cafe, but something was a bit off about Satan. Mammon nudges his shoulder, catching his attention. “What’s wrong?” “Isn’t it obvious?” The Avatar of Wrath made his hands into fists. “You’re leaving! Just like that!” “Satan--” Mammon stops, Satan stares at the ground, stopping beside him too as tears threatened to escape. He was so quick to get emotional it was surprising, but who could blame him? “I knew something like this would happen, yet I was still unprepared!” Mammon places a hand on his shoulder. “Ya can’t be prepared for everything..” “Don’t you think I know that?!” Satan yells, yet it didn’t faze Mammon, as he took his hand off his shoulder. “I...I’m sorry.” He quietly apologizes. “It’s just.. You’ve been there for me so much when I was still learning how to be something aside from just wrath itself..” “I still remember when you would come to my room when Lucifer was busy.” Mammon chuckles, in an attempt to clear the air a bit. Satan chuckles. “Yea, I did that a lot..” Mammon hummed in agreement, before Satan suddenly hugged him, which surprised him more then anything. Mammon got over his shock and simply hugs back. “...Thank you.. Thank you for everything..” Hearing that.. It made Mammon feel all fuzzy inside, it wasn’t sarcastic, or patronizing, it was a genuine thank you.. “You’re welcome, Satan..” --- Fourth day, Leviathan. Mammon knocks on the door to Levi’s room. “Levi? It’s me, Mammon-“ He flinches a bit as the door flung open. He walks in and looks around, closing the door behind him. Everything was such a calming blue and the sound of the aquarium made him more anxious and less anxious at the same time “Levi?” His eyes land on a little blanket and pillow fort Levi made, but no Levi in sight. He then saw something shifting under an aqua colored blanket. Mammon walks over and sat beside the lump that was Levi underneath the blanket, crossing his legs. It was silent before Mammon sighs. “Hey, ya ready to talk?” “Levi’s not here at the moment, please wait a minute.” Mammon leans back, hearing shaky breathing. Unfortunately, it was always a bit hard to talk to Levi after The Fall. He wished it wasn’t, but with their opposing personalities and them being at odds with each other, it really couldn’t be helped. Eventually, a head pops out of the blanket, revealing Levi. “Hey-” “..Hi..” Mammon thought of playing a few games in an attempt to cheer him up before he talked about the issues. After all, the point of this was to try and bond with them, tying up any loose threads before he leaves. “...Let’s get this over with..” Levi huffs, sitting up, but not making eye contact with Mammon. A moment of silence filled the room as tears welled up in Levi’s eyes. “I’m sorry you had to deal with me.” “Levi-” “Not only am I gross, yucky shut in, but I’m also a horrible brother!” Ah, self deprecation, Levi’s go to tactic when feeling like shit. Mammon places his hand on his shoulder and looks at him with a calm expression. “Levi look at me.“ It took a minute, but the otaku looks up at his older brother. He took the arms off his shoulders and sighs. “We’ve been at odds for years, and I’ll admit, there was shit I’ve done that made me a horrible brother too..” “But I’ve told you to go off yourself so many times I can’t count, I was the one who was always bullying you, and taking things too far! “And that’s your mistake!” Mammon glares. “But my mistakes are what caused you to lash out sometimes!” Here they were at it again, aggressively arguing while trying to one up the other. It didn’t help the situation all that much, but it was letting them explain their side of the story. It didn’t excuse any of the things they did, but it helped explain a lot of it. “...Why did you take it for so long?” “Well I didn’t really have any other choice, I was scared and alone, until MC came.” He sighs. “I didn’t have this option before.” “....” “Levi, I don’t want any bad blood between us before I leave, i want to get my life together and come back knowing we can act like brothers.” “Come back..? What do you mean?” “I mean once I get myself stable, I’m coming back to visit.. maybe.” “M-Maybe? ..You don’t want anything to do with us, do you?” Mammon groans, mentally bashing himself for saying that, before looking back at Levi. “I thought I didn’t, I thought I’d be perfectly fine without you guys, but I may be wrong, we’ll see.. I’m just.. not sure yet..” Levi leans against his brother. “Still, even if you don’t come back, thanks for at least thinking of us..” “Of course, I could never forget my brothers, who all made my life interesting.” Levi laughs and pokes him. “Could say the same for you, you never failed to make the days interesting for me..” Mammon grins proudly before ruffling his hair. “Good, I’m glad.” --- Fifth Day... Lucifer.
Oh god why Lucifer..? That’s all he thought as he makes his way to his private office with MC.. Where no one could hear him scream... Where so many punishments happened before.. He was terrified of facing Lucifer, rightfully so. Any wrong move could end up in punishment, at least that’s what he thought.. “Mammon, you want me to stay here so I can make sure he doesn’t do anything?” MC asks. He wanted to trust Lucifer, he wanted to think that nothing would happen, but it’s too late for that.. “Yea..” He murmurs. MC nods and squeezes his hand. “If you need to leave, just leave, okay? It’s alright if you get overwhelmed, I doubt Lucifer is going to blame you.” And that was the worst part, he was consciously abusing him, knowing the scars it left on Mammon “Okay..” Mammon walks into the office, leaving the door open enough to escape with ease. “Lucifer..” The eldest looks up from his desk and his stony faced expressions softens. His chair scrapped across the floor as he got up, walking over. Mammon stares up at him, the same ice cold glare he gave when Mammon told Lucifer he could do what he wanted. He was sick of being scared of him, it was high time for him to stand up for himself and-- “Mammon.. I’m sorry..” ..What? Mammon looked at him bewildered, the confident facade falling a bit to see that he did look genuinely sorry, but for some reason, Mammon had a hint of suspicion from his words. “I’m sorry..” Lucifer repeats, seems his pride was crumbling a bit, as the eldest was never one to repeat himself. “There’s no excuse for the things we’ve put you through, the things I’ve put you through.. I abused you, put too much pressure on you as the second eldest, made you absolutely terrified of me, that’s not how a brother should act..” “....” Lucifer sighs. “I understand your decision, and really, I’m thankful that I was able to tell you this because I do love you, even though I never made it entirely clear.” Lucifer was pulled into a sudden hug, which surprised him. He looks to see Mammon hugging him with his eyes shut. He simply smiles and hugs back. “Thank you.. Ya don’t know how much your words mean to me...” Mammon murmurs. They separate and Lucifer hums. “I assume you cleared up everything with the others?” “Yea, I guess-” Mammon rubs the back of his neck. “I just have one more place to visit.” --- Day Six, Luke and Simeon. “I’m going to miss you!!” Luke hugs Mammon tight, causing both adults to chuckle. “I’m sure we can visit him, Luke.” Simeon reminds, giving Mammon a hug of his own after Luke ended his grip on Mammon’s waist. “You’re planning on living with MC, correct?” He asks as he backs away. Mammon nods. “Yea, at least until I can support my own.” He says. Simeon smiles and backs away a bit. “I’m proud of you for doing this, I assume this wasn’t an easy decision to make.” The angel quirks an eyebrow up as Mammon sighs and nods in agreement. “At least you don’t have to be a demon anymore!” Luke huffs. Mammon playfully rolls his eyes and messes with his hair, getting a hissy response as they continue the conversation. --- Later that day, everyone met up in the castle to see Mammon become human and go off to the human world. MC agreed to stay there for a bit as they help Mammon get use to his new life and body. Mammon wasn’t going to retain all his memories, just like Lilith before him, but considering his rank and power, it wasn’t going to be as big of a blow to his memories. Before Diavolo began the ritual, he looks at Mammon with a frown on his face. “I’m going to miss you, it’s a shame to see you go but it’s for the best.” He says. “Before I start, is there anything you wish to say to the others?” Mammon looks at his brothers and friends before smiling sadly, picking up his bag and waving goodbye. Words in the demonic language were spoken and with a flash of light, Mammon and MC disappearing, being teleported to the human world. It was a sad sendoff, but maybe, just maybe, they would meet each again.
