Mamluk Gilded and Enamelled Glass Footed Bowl, glass (ca. 1325โ1350) This bowl represents the pinnacle of 14th-century Islamic glassmaking from Mamluk Syria. Mamluk craftsmen (1250โ1517) pioneered sophisticated techniques for applying gilding and polychrome enamels, creating intricate zoomorphic arabesques and animal combat scenes.
