"Who's there?" Nadja's voice rang out, sounding neither alarmed nor suspicious; rather, neutral and mildly curious. “What are you doing here? This is rather far from town.“ A wrinkled brow raised slightly on one side, not even looking up from her book.

Russell stopped in place at the sudden voice, feeling his shoulders tense for only a brief second as he went to face the other. It wasn’t often he felt anything- and, looking at the other, he couldn’t say he did feel anything. He stared at her deadpan, not feeling threatened in the slightest. After all, he was much more concerned about going home than coming across a stranger in the streets.
He almost didn’t feel the need to reply, though he fretted that if he didn’t, this person would report his behavior as suspicious- and he’d be walked home by an officer again.
“I’m fine.” It seemed like that was a better answer than anything else. “It’s not even dark yet. I have plenty of time to get... home.”
