Pitcher plant (nepenthes) in the heath forest near to Nepenthes Camp (formerly Camel Trophy Camp). Maliau Basin has 9 (nine) species of Nepenthes (pitcher plant). 1. Nepenthes cf mirabiles, 2. Nepenthes gracilis 3. Nepenthes hirsuta 4. Nepenthes lowii 5. Nepenthes reinwardtiana 6. Nepenthes stenophylla 7. Nepenthes tentaculata 8. Nepenthes veitchii 9. Nepenthes veithchii X Nepenthes stenophylla (hybrid) . So... I only remember the smallest one as Nepenthes tentaculata. . Nepenthes is also called as periuk kera as people use it to cook rice. . Monkeys do drink from nepenthes so in Chinese we call it 猴子杯。 . Its endangered and protected. . So do not eat or drink with it. The 7 Tier Waterfalls of Maliau Basin, deep inside Sabah's Lost World. This photo was taken from a helicopter, during one of my aerial explorations of Sabah a few years ago.
