If Uma had rolled her eyes any harder, she would have actually sprained something in her neck. The glare she shoots a moment later toward Mal is akin to a death stare, her nostrils are flared, and she looks pissed. 

It would have been far more intimidating had the pair not been standing in the kitchen, Uma over a bowl of failed cake mix, some flour on her face. Suddenly the comment from Mal makes a whole world of sense and she lifts her sleeve to wipe at her face, trying to at least solve one of her problems.

There’s a chuckle of pure glee that leaves her lips; one Uma would only ever give when she could tell something was pissing Mal off. It was something she lived for seeing. Nothing brought her greater satisfaction than seeing Mal annoyed.

“Mal, welcome to Charmington. My mother is busy with a press engagement and my father is at the mines with my uncles.” as the future KIng of Charmington, it therefore fell to Forrest to show Mal around their home. “So what have you heard about Charmington so far? All good I hope.” the prince grinned as he led her out towards the orchard his brother spent most of his time in. “Everyone thinks mom should hate apples, but she keeps an orchard as they’re her favourite fruit still.”

            this near friendship they have is still ROCKY at best. but uma is at ease enough now to not mind when mal joins her on the sofa, acknowledging her with a brief glance. this document in her hand was more important than small talk anyways. or, it   WAS   -   until mal voices the question which was, presumably, her reason for seeking uma out in the first place.
