OR Magazine investigates the investigators pt. 1
On Saturday April 28, Writer Maya Lazaro, Multimedia Editor Erik Bender, and freelance photographer Sean Danaher followed Mark Miner, a parapsychologist and murder mystery writer based out of Corvallis, Oregon, as he investigated a family's claim that they had lost time driving down Highway 18.

Miner surveys the scene where his clients claim to have lost at least an hour of time.
OR Writer and Communications Manager Maya Lazaro takes notes.
The client explains to Miner how he and the other passengers in his vehicle lost at least an hour of time while driving through Falls City, a small town in Polk County, Oregon. It was his wife's birthday and the group was on their way to Dallas, Oregon to eat a celebratory dinner. His wife was traveling in a second vehicle close behind him with their youngest son and some family friends. When the client looked in the rear-view mirror, he saw that his wife's car had disappeared. Over the course of 5-10 minutes he waited for the other car along the main road, and even drove back a ways to look for them, but their vehicle was nowhere to be found. He then called his wife asking where she was - she told him she and her friends were in Dallas and had already eaten dinner. Dallas is a 25 minutes drive from Falls City.
Miner's client says when he drove past this local grocery store in Falls City, the lights were on and several cars were parked outside. After losing his wife's vehicle, he turned around and drove back down the town's main road looking for her. Not five minutes after he had first driven by the store, he passed by it again. The lights in the store had since been turned off and there were no cars in the area. It was as though everyone had cleared off the street.
Freelance photographer Sean Danaher captures the tense conversation.
