The Purple "V-liner" Look: Simple Work/School-friendly Makeup (Wearable for Girls with Glasses!)
When you wear glasses, it tends to hide most of your eye makeup but the bonus is that you get to wear stronger colors than most people do.
This is a fun and straightforward liner look that works for most eye shapes, because it extends into the socket-line. It's not going to look like too much straight-on if you wear glasses but from the side and every time you blink, there's a surprising stroke of color that will show up.
a soft matte taupe brown (I used The Body Shop Coconut Crush)
[Optional]Â a deep purple pencil or liner (I used Bourjois's Metallise pencil in 78 Bleu Chatoyant)
a slightly lighter and brigher pencil or cream shadow than the first shade (I used Maybelline Color Tattoo in Painted Purple)
Step 1: First prime your lids and then apply a matte taupe shadow into the socket line. Don't go all the way to the inner corners; just 2/3 of the way in.
Step 2: [Optional] Along the upper lash line, apply a thick stroke of the deep purple liner. You can use just one shade for step 2 and step 3 if you don't want to fuss with it. Using 2 colors just adds a little extra dimension and depth.
Step 3: The main shape of the liner requires you to simply draw a second line along the hollow of your socket, at the outer 1/3 of the lid, pulling it down until it meets the first line.
You want this second line to soften and fade inwards, instead of ending in a hard stop in the center of your lid. This creates the look of an outlined wing disappearing into your crease.
Step 4: To finish, apply a little right at the base of the upper lashes just to add some definition back. Then apply a little white or matte yellow/beige to the lower waterline to brighten the eyes.
Step 5: Finish with mascara!
I simply applied a soft pink matte blush (MAC Well Dressed) along the cheekbones and then L'oreal's beautiful new Colour Riche lipstick, Touch of Amaranth*.
*I'm still waiting for a response from L'oreal regarding whether they will be rolling out the new lip colors outside of Asia; will update once I know more!
