A lovely thing about picture books is that because they are written to be read by adults to children, they are not limited by things like genre, and can be a fun way to introduce kids to new styles of storytelling. For example, "Apples For Little Fox" (2017) by author-illustrator Ekaterina Trukhan is a wonderfully sweet little mystery story for even the youngest audience. Little ones can flex their inferencing skills by trying alongside the little fox to figure out what has become of the missing apples from his favourite orchard, with clear visual clues, and an ending sure to satisfy. 🍎🍏🍎 Over at @noodlenuts_classics I'm exploring inferencing this week with the Read With River Book Club and the hashtag #FindMeStoriesWith_inference.
