Do you feel you accomplished the purpose of this assignment?Â
I do, I feel I covered in each point I needed using both the interviews and the reading to supplement my points.Â
What did you learn, and how can you use it in the future?Â
I learned how to conduct interviews, which is very important in the field of Psychology as most data is derived from interviews, surveys, and therapy sessions (which is, in a sense, a very drawn out, prolonged interview).
Did you practice any particular skills you would like to continue developing as you move forward?
The interview skill/communication skill used is something I would like to continue to develop.
How well do you feel you met the criteria for this assignment?
I think I met it pretty well, I didn’t put in the interview sources though, since the resources for that went up after I turned in my paper.
How did your writing process for this assignment facilitate or obstruct your progress?
I think it obstructed it, I’m used to just writing essays in no particular format or formula to them, and having to sit down and plan my writing to match up with the needed formatting slowed me down significantly- the length of the paper is equal to an essay I’d write in two to three hours, and this paper roughly took me six- double the time it should have.
Was your revision process effective? How, if at all, could you have altered it to make your writing more effective?
I didn’t revise, mostly because I finished my essay at five in the morning and I just wanted to sleep. Which while not something I’d suggest to most people (not revising), it’s something I do frequently- I’m a bit last minute with things because of my ADHD; however I’ve adapted to it and if things aren’t last minute I don’t do them well. Which is a very odd thing my brain does, but all my science fair awards are from projects I completed two or three days before it was due. The same stands for this paper.
I think i would’ve started it earlier if I knew how long it was going to take (I didn’t appreciate getting less than four hours of sleep), just to reread it when my brain was less foggy, but otherwise I wouldn’t have done anything differently.Â
What from the readings was most or least helpful in completing this assignment?
I mostly used Swales to outline my paper since the paper is based on his teachings, after all. I tried to bring Porter in, but I think I could’ve done better, but his work wasn’t as helpful as it was Swales.
