Soda Island Outlaws- Tropical Raids: Giant Squid!
đĽ Maintenance is all done, 4,500 more crystals have already been sent out as compensation for 2 rounds of extended maintenance, with more goodies ready for you to collect (shown below) as compensation for a third bout of maintenance caused by server errors, but the storm is coming, and thereâs no time to return to your homes! We have a Giant Squid on our hands! Gather your friends and prepare to take the fight together⌠but how does it work?
Tropical Raids are a special game mode found in the Tropical Soda Islands area that occur in irregular seasons, often separated by regular maintenance, where you fight towering enemies alongside your friends. If you make any new friends after a raid has started, they canât join in!
Unlock this mode by winning in every other game mode at least once. As for the Kingdom Arena, you just have to compete at least once.
Defeat the main boss of the raid to challenge another one thatâs tougher than the last. Defeat one of the bossâs elites to gain a special buff for the remainder of the raid, but youâll need to defeat them all before facing the big baddie itself!
Defeating the boss yields rewards for everyone that pitched in, even if you didnât land the finishing blow! If the boss escapes before you defeat it, youâll still get rewards based on how much you damaged it.
Helping friends with their raids adds to your weekly Help Rewards chest. Contribute to your friendsâ raids 10 times to open a special chest with the following rewards:
đŹ 100 Level 3 EXP Star Jellies
You can only open 3 Friendly Contribution chests per week.
You need 500 Deep Sea Keys to open a Deep Sea Chest, but any keys you win are yours to keep until you open a chest, even after the season ends!
Any rewards that you are entitled to based on contributions are delivered within 30 minutes after the raid has ended.
Whatâs in one of those Deep Sea Chests?
Squid Ink Cookieâs Soulstones- 8%
Level 6 EXP Star Jellies- 2%
Pristine Skill Powders- 2.5% for each class, 20% total
Level 5 EXP Star Jellies- 4%
Indestructible Glazed Hammer- 3%
Glittering Yogurt Wreath- 3%
Overall, the odds of getting an Epic item are 38%, Rare at 12%, and Common items at 50%
If any of your Cookies get thrown overboard and get KOâd during the Raid battle, theyâre benched on the same Sunbeds as everyone else in the Tropical Soda Islands, and for a much longer time, too! The tougher the boss, the longer theyâll need to stay on the sunbed to dry up! Cookies that have to stay on the sunbeds either from getting KOâd on the Islands or the Raids canât fight in either! Youâll also have to manage the queue yourself, since Cookies that are on the queue wonât move up the line until you help a newly-re-crisped Cookie off their sunbed!
Donât worry, though. We already scouted out what the Giant Squid can do for this raidâs season:
Weâve also found a series of inkwells that you can reel in with Ink Hooks, including Squid Ink Cookie! You need 30 to reel one in, but whatâs insideâŚ?
Sure, thereâs 31 rewards on the list. Only 20 of them will be hidden in the inkwells until you reset them. In every possible combination of rewards in the inkwells, one of them is guaranteed to be Squid Ink Cookie! What else is new that we didnât cover?
Sorbet Shark Cookie Gacha Banner- Increases the odds of meeting Sorbet Shark Cookie or finding their soulstones!
More missions were added to the Tropical Soda Islands progression bar, as well as new storylines for discovering 52, 58, 62, 68, 72, 78, 85, and 100 regions
Soulstones for Pastry Cookie, Fig Cookie, and Red Velvet Cookie have been added to the Mileage Shop
13 new technologies, 4 Kingdom-related, 9 Cookie-related. Upgrade your castle to level 10 to unlock the option to upgrade your Sugar Gnome Laboratory to level 7 to unlock them!
10 new decorations can be purchased from the Tropical Islands category
You can now cancel the production of materials in goods just in case you want to move resources elsewhere but you already placed an order that you, in hindsight, didnât want to place
Winning attacks in the Kingdom Arena wins more trophies!
Damage blocked by enemy absorbing shields (that block certain HP amounts, not for a determined number of hits, unknown if this includes shields enabled from total invincibility through means such as Jelly Wormâs Sticky Goo) is now included in the Battle Report
Lilac Cookie now uses his skill to attack the closest enemy if none are in his normal range
Issue fixed that reduced frame rate on select devices after adding a specific number of water tiles to your kingdomâs layout
Issue fixed that caused problems with displayed Treasure Cooldown in Guild Battle
Fixed an issue that caused a World Exploration pop-up to incorrectly appear when tapping certain areas in the Guild Battle lobby
Fixed an issue that caused an incorrect time countdown to show on Cookie Actions instead of showing âActivity Complete!â
Display issue fixed that was caused by tapping the Edit Profile Picture and Kingdom Pass buttons on the Kingdom Info screen at the same time
The red dot will now disappear correctly after viewing the Rainbow Shell Gallery after it has refreshed
Fixed issue where using a speed-up while a finished product was on the queue would display the finished item instead of the in-progress item
Fixed an intermittent issue where only 3 opponents would be shown when refreshing the Kingdom Arena list
Fixed issue with lingering visual effects and temporary inability to use skills from Cookies revived by Sugar Swanâs Shining Feather
Fixed issue with Cookies being damaged after defeating a boss
Some monsters didnât use their skills when only summoned enemies were left standing. Theyâre now attacking properly.
Fixed an issue that caused some text to display incorrectly in the guild chat when the game language was set to Thai
Fixed the issue that caused âPurify: All debuff effectsâ to appear twice in Herb Cookieâs skill description
You can now read the stories of Cookies that you havenât met yet!
This last one is a personal win for the Editor since that was a limiting factor in introduction posts. Master posts for Pure Vanilla Cookie and every Cookie released from Tiers of Chaos to todayâs update will be in the works, but screenshots of their skills in action will be limited or not shown because Editor hasnât met some of those Cookies yet, said skills are difficult to capture effectively, and because Tumblr still has a 10-photo limit per post.
The Squid is here! Whoâs ready to go? Maybe weâll find a harmless Squid Ink Cookie insteadâŚ?
