30 Days of Character Development
(This'll be the whole week in a couple of posts, I kinda forgot about it...)
Day 5: Describe your character’s sexual identity. This could include orientation, how they present themselves to the preferred gender(s), how openly they’re willing to talk about things like sex, etc.Â
Okay... well, for starters, he's heterosexual, although everybody else on the ship believes the opposite (they either believe he's gay or he's got a thing for dwarven women, but really, can't a guy just be nice to people?).
He's pretty detached from girl-chasing, contrary to his youthful age, his vice is drinking, not women. He doesn't worry or fret about the female opinion, nor is he out looking for either a soulmate or a one-night stand, he's pretty indifferent about being single.
He's very open to talk about sex and intimacy, like a sex ed teacher or sex psychologist. He'll spew enough "penis", "intercourse" and "vagina" in a single discourse enough to make a granny blush and say he needs god in his life, but, to him, they're just words and facts.
I also think that if the campaign keeps on rollin' as it is, this guy is gonna die alone, a virgin, happily hugging his spell components.
Day 6: Describe your character’s happiest memory.Â
At least, that comes to mind, is one when he was a small kid, five years old. His mother, another wizard, had detected he had the same gift as well, and she was basically, ecstatic, so it made him happy as well. He mostly remembers when a few days after, his father arrived home with his eldest brother. It was the first time he ever saw either of them, since it is a strong custom in the Erus family, that the paladin father would teach his eldest son about the whole paladin thing for five years at a time while guarding a gate of Hell and only visiting the material plane once every five years for five days but SHEESH that's a complicated family, back to the point. What made Ioru happiest about it all, about finding out he had magic in his veins, is that he was the closest one to his mother because of it. Sure, his eldest brother could use clerigal magic, being a paladin-in-training and his sister after him can also work evocation spells, but only Ioru, the youngest of the three siblings, inherited the knack for necromancy from his mother. And he loved it the most when his mother bragged about it for the whole of his father's stay. And future visits. And magical medium conversations between those visits. Yeah, yeah, he was a momma's boy, shut up.
Day 7:Â Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?
Yes, the day of his mother's funeral.Â
Why? Imagine the person you most admire. They can do almost anything, they're so near perfection and they're willing to take you along with them. And, after years of blind faith and trying to live up to your role model, you come home after several years for only one reason: to see that person lifeless, broken and torn to bloody shreds, in the arms of the man who swore to protect her, but couldn't.
Why would you want to keep that memory?
