I just played a match as engineer and at some point through I was sitting in my nest when I started hearing callouts from my teammates so I looked around, couldn't find anyone, went back to my perch and then heard it again. Checked again, went back, heard it with a different teammate and checked again, still nobody around.
It took me five minutes of this happening, steadily losing my mind, until I bumped into the enemy spy who was cloaked in my nest and switching between disguises specifically to fuck with me.
Now I know a lot of DRG's playerbase is average gamer dudes but it's always amusing to me how insistent they are that the dwarves are STRAIGHT and love hot big tiddy women.
Because like, all the dwarves we see are dudes. There are a LOT of dwarves on the space rig to make teams and whatnot. Each team has four members that spend most of their waking time in each others company. Presumably they stay on the space rig for several months or even years at a time due to it being in the middle of space.
You're telling me you think these dwarves are all straight? That there isn't at least a little homoeroticism going on here? They're a buncha dudes constantly spending time together, in isolation from the outside world, doing intense physical work every goddamn day, even with regular access to a bar.
You think they haven't explored each others bodies even a little bit?
Edit: Before reblogging this post to correct me or insult me or otherwise add anything, please refer to these additions.
"But female dwarves exist!" I love women too. But there are none in DRG at the moment.
2. "Why are you making everything gay? They're straight and focus only on work!" Please see these explanations that word things far better than I am able to.
3. "Well I think they're (insert other identity)" That's great! It's good! Don't get me wrong it's good! But this really isn't the post for it. Honestly I encourage you to make your own post about it because we do need more queer dwarf posting out there.
4. "Why does everything have to be about sex-" It's my blog and I can do what I want.
So, in conclusion.
DRG version of fishing memes. I say morning because if it was a good morning I'd be mining
NEW DRG GAME RAAAAAAAH

The REAL problem with stingtails is that their name is wrong. They don't have a sting and especially not on their tail don't lie to me.
That's a rhino. Glyphid Rhino.
I've got a lotta DRG-related world building I've been thinking about but DRG's canon lore is so so incredibly focused on Hoxxes that anything not directly involving it feels so... distant from DRG as a whole.
Even about the dwarves- when you start really looking at it there is almost nothing about them. They're short, they're hairy, they're rowdy, they love beer & rocks and stones. That's literally it. There are some hints at dwarven factions (scale brigade, hill dwarves, fourth relic) but nothing meaty.
Hell, even the single establishes character, Mission Control, has nothing about him. He has personality for days but we don't even know if he's dwarf or human.
It makes writing anything substantial an odd experience, to me at least. There's simultaneously so much to work off of and yet nothing at all.
Fascinating
