Traveling is tiresome. Missed connections wearing at the patience and idiotic pawns that canât do as theyâre told.
She had to leave. Disappear, she could not bear to listen to one more idiotic theory from one more idiotic player. Her pieces were scattered, she had thrown them into other fragments when she grown tired of the game, swiping them off the board in a fit of rage. No. No she hadnât. She was above that, The Great Witch of Miracles, was above childish behavior such as that. It had simply been an attempt to make things difficult for herself, to give herself more of a challenge. She had still won.
It was then Bernkastel realised she was bored of being a Witch and she didnât know how to make it enjoyable again. She was not like that hag Featherine, she could not sleep when things grew quiet, she had to keep moving lest the memories find her.
She had to keep moving and so she did, flitting through worlds searching for something interesting.
The Witch scuffed her shoes on the pavement, it was demeaning really, a creature of her standing hiding in an ally. Her dress made her stand out though, she knew. If that didnât make the mortals around her stare then her tail certainly would. She giggled. Certainty, now there was someone who know how to make things fun. A sigh. But Certainty was not here, if Bernkastel was going to find something entertaining then she had to do it herself and she had to fit in.
There was a purple spark and suddenly she did not appear as herself. She instead appeared as Herself. The girl before the Witch. The child from before the pain.
She takes a step out, she will request aid, the witch decided. She is small, she should have a parent around. AhâŚ. but how does she do that againâŚ.?
âI⌠I have lost.. no.. I am lost.â She speaks to the first person she sees, not bothering to look at who they are. âI⌠Need help?â It sounds more like a question than a statement, it really had been too long since she had last spoken to someone.
Small world. Sakana hadnât been up and about for a long, long time now. A voyager, however, needed to voyage at some point.Â
He, however, also didnât exactly look himself. Hands stuffed into his tattered coat pockets, he brushed his purple head of hair away from his eyes for a moment to examine the little girl before her, afterwards puffing a bit of smoke to the side from the cigarette he currently partook in.
It wasnât immediately apparent this was Bernkastel, to him. All he knew is that there seemed to be a pretty strong presence here, and it looked like he just found it. Either she was good enough at suppressing herself that he genuinely couldnât tell, or he was far too rusty at this for his own good.
Either way, he was also suppressing himself. Hopefully no one noticed too much. And oh, boy did he act the part well too, far more effeminate sounding, far less random cheery whim.
And, he figured, even in this form, it wouldnât be the first time he had to serve as a protector to a much smaller girl.
â...this doesnât seem like a place a little girl should be...where are your parents?â
