Making his way to Gaius' office, Arthur can't help but scoff at his father and his demands. He realizes, of course, that Gaius could definitely have the knowledge that his father and he needed, but it was a waste of time, in his opinion, especially when they could have been doing anything else. When he finally arrives towards Gaius' office, he finds himself blinking, looking around when he doesn't spot the older man, but instead, another man. Someone, younger... more-so his age, he thinks.

"Where is Gaius at?" He finds himself asking, heart beating inside of his chest, and Arthur is sure it's beating loud and fast.

“Why is there a sword in a stone on the Nematon?”

The Nematon, a tree trunk that rested at a center of lay lines in Beacon Hills.  It pulled Stiles and his friends in from time to time, like now.  The pack had begun taking turns trying to use their strength to pull the sword.  Scott had actually managed to lift the entire stone by the handle of the sword, but the sword stayed stuck.

“Your turn, Stiles”.  Stiles rolled his eyes at Scott’s words.

“There is no way that I’ll be able to pull it out if you guys can’t.  And don’t make that sound dirty either.”

Still, he let his friends goad him on, and easily, the sword slipped from the stone, sending out a shockwave of magical energy through the forest.

Arthur knew very well that he was playing with fire, but power plays were here for a reason and he knew that he needed to put his foot down. Merlin knew exactly what his duties were, there was no reason for him to be sneaking away with a stable boy. And no, he is not jealous, not at all. He would just get Merlin back on track and everything can go back to how it used to be. He was still asleep when Merlin came into his chambers, he never noticed the other man was there, not greeted with the same call for morning and only woke up because he could smell the food. Opening his eyes, he sighed deeply. Really now? Merlin was going to just avoid him? Why was Merlin so concerned about dates?

Alta closed her eyes as she sank into the comfort of the chair beside the roaring fire. It was not very often that King’s offered to host her when she traveled through their realms, but she was not one to refuse a warm fire, a soft bed, and regular hot meals when offered in return for coming to a court. She wondered for a moment if their was some other motive behind King Uther’s Kindness as the king was very much against magic, but the ache in the seer’s body from travel caused those thoughts to go away. For a moment, everything was quite for Alta and she loved it. Until the knocking at her door began.

“Come on in,” The Seer said with a deep sigh as she remained seated.

"I'm scared, Merlin." She finds herself admitting, turning away from the other man while biting the inside of her cheek. She doesn't exactly understand why she feels herself compelled to tell Merlin that she's scared of her magic, because she knows that that is what this is but something within her is telling her - guiding her - to go to Merlin. Saying she can trust him, that he can help her. She really hopes it's right, whatever it is.

He's staring, because of course he is. The two of them have been in this specific farming village for a couple of weeks, and Arthur - Arthur had had a plan to talk to Merlin about possibly moving somewhere else, especially with winter coming, but then he had been blind sighted because Merlin -- Merlin ---

"Did you just do magic?" He finds himself asking, heart pounding inside of his chest as he steps closer to the other man. He knows he should be angry, scared, whatever else, but -- this is Merlin.

Ok so Arthur’s getting a lot of separate little threads in his canon!verse. Lucky boy.
