❝  𝐃𝐈𝐃  𝐘𝐎𝐔  𝐍𝐎𝐖 ?  ❞     rhys  hums  quietly  before  he’s  crossing  the  room  slowly  and  settling  himself  in  leo’s  lap,  arms  resting  around  his  shoulders  until  he  laces  his  fingers  together  behind  the  man’s  neck.  tip  of  a  nose  bumping  against  the  other’s  as  rhys  steals  a  quick  kiss  with  a  smile.  ❝  i’ve  missed  you  too.  you’ve  been  workin’  too  much,  leavin’  me  all  by  my  lonesome,  ❞  a  dramatic  sigh  escaping  rhys’  lips  before  he’s  leaning  in  for  another  kiss.

baby  blues  brighten  when  a  spark  of  an  idea  strikes  him.  ❝  y’know  what  i  think  we  could  use  ?  a  lil  vacation.  hell,  maybe  even  a  lil  staycation  as  long  as  it’s  just  you  n’  me  doin’  a  lot  of  reconnectin’  and  lazyin’  about.  ❞  either  sounded  like  a  good  idea  to  him  and  rhys  was  more  than  fine  with

“NICE try slick, I quit smoking after I became a god, so if it tastes like ASH, that one’s on you mister. Nothing I can do about that.”

SHRUGGED shoulders come before he places a HAND on Zeke’s chest to keep the distance between them as the taller man ATTEMPTS to screw with him by closing the distance, a WICKED WRY GRIN plastered across Karter’s features as he glares up at his husband with a PUFF.

"Why are you ok with this?"

“DEPENDS on which thing you’re talking about.”

He pauses, looking up from the stove as he glances across the kitchen for a second spying Zeke from the corner of his eye having his midmorning coffee before he turns his attention back to the BOILING POT.

“If you’re referring to us being MARRIED, that one is simple. It’s clear that I’m not going to change the outcome and quite frankly I don’t really have it IN ME to fight you for the next THOUSAND years so I’m just going along with it. THERE ARE worse spouses I could have.”

He stirs the PASTA in the pot that he’s cooking with for a few moments before sighing and placing the lid back on it, turning and resting against the countertop with ARMS crossed. 

HE draws in a quiet breath, glancing at the CLOCK on the wall for half a second before turning back and glancing down at his wrist, STUDYING the chord around his wrist for a second before speaking again.

A PUFF OF FRUSTRATION passes his lips, body slumped over his BODY pressed firm against the wall of their shared living space as he averts his gaze, the sound of Zeke’s voice causing the SHARP anger to boil in the pit of his stomach, TEETH gritted as he sneers having to REIGN in his anger for a moment to try and control himself in his heated flustered state.

He figures Zeke is doing this on purpose and thus he did his best to RESIST ( TO FIGHT BACK! ) but as always it seems as though the power always rested solely on ONE side of this bridge betwixt them. He furrows his brow his jaw taut his hands gripping Zeke’s shoulders. NOT TOO HARD but enough to convey the wild mix of emotions flowing through him as he averts his gaze.

OF COURSE HE’S RILED UP.

Why wouldn’t he be? Despite the sham-like nature of their marriage there were more than a few instances where they’d shared a bed from the SHEER frustration of having to be around each other. IT SEEMED to be a way for the tension to BREAK without them trying to kill each other or having to be at each other’s throats. AND HERE THEY WERE AGAIN–––spiraling out of control as Karter tries his best to not go off the deep end.

“YOU’VE got me pinned to a wall...”

AND YOUR TEETH ON MY NECK–––he wants to spit out but he can hardly find the words, FEATURES red across sprawled cheeks as he shuts his eyes for a second before he shakily speaks his next sentiments.
