Scorpius had come home with a smile, now it’s replaced with horror. He runs out of the room and grabbed his grandmother’s leg, crying and panicking and scared and hyperventilating to the point where he can’t even breathe. It concerns both his grandparents and Scorpius just pointed to where he had found his father just a minute ago.
He’s shaking and carefully looking in the room, trying his best to eavesdrop on the conversation his grandparents are having with his father, and somewhat watching them keeping pressure on the wounds so he doesn’t bleed to death.
He can hear a little bit of the conversation, but he slowly peeks into the room, seriously worried about his father, tears staining his eyes because he already blames himself for his mother’s death. “I’m killing you like I killed mommy, aren’t I?” The seven year old looks at him, shaking as tears stream down his face.
All Draco wanted to do at that point was comfort Scorpius, to let him know it would be okay but he didn’t want his son to see him like that any longer than he had to. Especially since no child should have to see their parent like that, he couldn’t imagine the trauma that the image would leave on him. The last thing he wanted to do was cause the child more pain by losing another parent, he already had to deal with losing his mother. At this point all he could do is hope his parents were still there for the sake of their grandson, one of them would need to calm him down while the other rushed him to St Mungo’s Hospital.
When his parents came rushing in he could see the horror in their face, how was he even going to explain how this happened when he was still trying to figure it out himself. How did one explain that he had been fighting his demons and it looked like his demons nearly won this time, he hadn’t had an episode in awhile but bloody Merlin was this one the worst. Honestly the last time he had an episode was probably after Astoria died and he spent that whole night blaming himself for her death. He honestly believed that her death was karma for all the bad things he has done in his life and he still very much believes it, despite what others has told him. Normally he was an expert of hiding his emotions but right now he couldn’t stop the tears from falling from his eyes, he was an absolute bloody mess.
A slight whine escaping his lips as the pressure was being applied harder, he knew they needed to do that to try to control the bleeding but did it ever hurt. At this point he was focusing all his energy on breathing, trying his best to stay conscious since he’d think passing out would be a bad idea right now since he was trying to fight for his life. As his father was picking him up in his arms he could his son speak, a slight frown settled on his facial features as he watched his mother walk over and pick up Scorpius. “Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy...” He mused out in a weak tone before letting out a sigh. “Baby, you didn’t kill your mother, she died from a terrible blood curse - it had nothing to do with you. And you certainly aint killing me, I promise you that. If anything my sweet prince, you are the reason I am alive. You are my greater good and you will always be.”
