The sound of a gently flowing stream and cicadas buzzing in summer heat surround Sezja. The sight and sounds are all too familiar and impossible. This was the garden of the Memory Weaver, and her house was before Sezja along the path.
"So you're here/arrived finally/at last." The double-speak was like Sezja's "partner" but it wasn't the dragon. "Please, pardon/forgive this way I am talking/communicating. It really is me."
Everything was the same as Sezja would remember it, even the corpse of the slain Aphelion bleeding with corrupted blight into the sand. This was the last day of Harune's existence. The sky blackened and it would begin to rain.
"I wanted. To see you again/one last time."
"Why are YOU HERE." Even though this Harune tries to speak and act like her, Sezja knows it's just not her. She's furious at these repeated attempts to mock her, to show this image before her.
"I know what happened here. I know the realm is still in ruins and chaos, I've seen it. It's fragmented space without a host to mend it." It's not this lie.
Memories jumble, but there are simply clear things she was granted back when Harune returned to yank her out of Aphelion's fake life. That Harune had lost her heart that day, left to wander the worlds. Then brought back in a moment of clarity, she returned to grant the quantum witch the power to rend Jeanne from this existence.
Her final price, the loss of all that was 'Harune', banished never to be seen. A fragment of her, Ueno Yua lives on as reward for her word, but the Harune they knew... does not exist anymore.
"This.. this isn't right. Why are you trying to see me? When..."
When Leonie is no longer here, when she no longer exists. When their guardian is gone, and the balance is no more.
What purpose does this shade of something great show itself.
