okay   ,   so maybe taking some time away from everything was a good idea after all. fuck   ,   he can’t believe he’s thinking that right now   ,   but even barry can’t deny how nice it was to be out on the beach   ,   the cool breeze hitting him as he watches the waves pull up   ------   slowly rolling one after the other. the clouds littered the sky   &   sun was barely out   ,   but that kind of made it more perfect in his opinion. overcast weather at the beach meant less crowds    ,   less noise   ------   the perfect recipe for an actually relaxing afternoon.   ❝   i dunno how you got me to join you hank   ,   but uh   ,   i’m glad i came.   ❞   his admittance is paired with a rare   ,   genuine smile directed at the chechen mobster   ,   normally startling icy stare blocked by heavy tinted sunglasses as he turns to face him.   ❝   what are you thinkin’ about   ?   ❞

it was supposed to be just a courtesy call   ,   nothing too serious or deep about it. after everything that had happened between them   &   goran   ,   barry was thankful for all the help hank had given him over the course of the last few weeks. without him   ,   barry probably wouldn’t even be here right now. he owed him   ,   &   while he couldn’t exactly pay him back through his usual services   ,   he was alright with staying in contact. the stash house he had helped goran retrieve with taylor was now being shared between hank   &  cristobal   &   everything seemed to be moving smoothly. he was happy for him really   ,   but those next five words threw him off so much   ,   he damn near dropped the phone.

this was a bit ridiculous. hank was surely capable enough to put together some simple furniture without any help   ,   why did he need to call him over   ?   as he sat on his knees looking at the drawn instructions in the booklet   ,   eyes peer over to where hank sat   ,   that infamous smile of his reaching his eyes.   ❝   you just had to go for the vittsjö   ,   didn’t ya   ?   couldn’t do something more practical like a trulstorp   ?   it would have been less ... i dunno   ,   show - offy.   ❞
