So, it's been a long time coming and most certainly a learning process but this custom shoeshine box is complete! It's made from Soft Maple, features through dovetails for the main box, has a mitered base with dovetail splines, book matched top and bottom, brass hardware, the foot is custom for the customer's foot and is finished with Deft semi-gloss lacquer! Check out the texture on this lovely hat! I love the way this came out, but unfortunately the stitch was shorter than I realized and the hat is shorter than I intended and it squeezed my head! Gonna have to frog and go again, but that's okay, because this was actually a really fun stitch to do. The final product is VERY thick and squishy.
