Madeline Burrows in Mom Baby God, a one woman show.
Political ferment takes the stage by Larry Murray
The right wing has always had their tendency to control others sprinkled with cherry picked Bible talk. Their desire to dismiss global warming, women, people of color and gays is simply the desire to take away the natural rights we all have as individuals and enforce their peculiar brand of…

MOM BABY GOD: New play pokes fun at pro-lifers
We’ve heard a lot lately about pro-lifers going underground to research the abortion industry, but does it ever go the other way around? Well young pro-choice Madeline Burrows spent a year attending Students for Life conferences and interviewing pro-lifers, and then spent another year or so making a solo theater production out of all her experiences. Resorting to much vulgarity, the play pokes fun at pro-lifers and accuses them of being sexually repressed and brainwashed.
Students for Life president Kristan Hawkins alleges that Burrows “set aside actual facts to craft a theatrical mockery” of pro-life activist work:
[Burrows] that she had to fictionalize the conference, and, in the Q&A session after her play’s premiere, she said that she even had to change information about fetal development relayed in the play because the truth was causing some of her (mostly left-wing) audience to question their pro-choice views.
Once past the vulgarity and mis-adhesion to the truth, Hawkins states, the play uncovers no “shocking motive” for pro-life activities as widespread abortion industry undercover investigation has uncovered with Planned Parenthood and similar organizations.
Rather than take offense at the insulting parody on her organization, Hawkins is proud to serve as an example of the pro-life generation:
Some have asked if I’m upset by the creation of the play — that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s an honor to know that seeing 2,000-plus young people at the largest pro-life conference in America is cause for great concern for pro-abortion advocates. They should be worried.
Students for Life has helped start over 600 pro-life student groups in the last seven years, and we are currently working with over 760 active groups across the nation. No pro-abortion organization comes close in size to our grassroots momentum. All of the polling data is on our side. Technology is on our side.
We know this is the pro-life generation. They can try to mock us all they want, but the facts won’t change.
