A beautiful Macrodontia cf. zischkai photographed in the primary forest of Peru, near @losamigosbiologicalstation. This longhorn beetle is among the biggest beetles of South America, even if the dimensions variate depending on the quality and quantity of food which they ingest during their larval stages. They only live a few weeks once adult and they really rare to see. I was very happy that my Elena found it very close to the station. It stayed still enough for me to take this image wit a long exposure at more than f/16.
