Teachers don’t really deal in these sorts of stuff since it’s not what they’re responsible for. However, it depends on the context of the situation so you could approach a teacher you know (such as your form teacher) and ask to see if they can provide any help or even just some advice. Otherwise, you’ll have to ask the student yourself and hopefully they’ll be able to return what they owe.

This is super sweet and we honestly really appreciate it! Teachers for VCE subjects don’t often change too much over the years and to our knowledge, here are some teachers of Chemistry and Biology that we know of.

Perhaps think about what subject they teach and maybe get a gift that ties in with that? See if you can find out their hobbies/interests as well! If you’re having trouble, maybe ask one of the other teachers that are friends with them. Some things you can get include Lush, Innisfree, Miniso, stationery from Muji or Officeworks.

Try and think of quirks that your teachers have or other things that they’ve done consistently throughout the year. For example, if a teacher always corrects your work in pink pen, maybe buy them a couple of pink pens. Similarly, if they seem to like tea or coffee, it might be nice to buy them a new mug?

Sorry, we’re not too sure how Mr Allan’s marking system works. If you have a good reason as to why you’re handing it in late, just let him know as teachers are more understanding when they’ve been given explanations. As you’re in year 9, I think he will be a bit more lenient as it’s not a major assessment. Just try to hand it in as soon as possible so it’s not too late from the due date.

Chocolates and a card, as simple as it is, is actually sweet and still appreciated because you have taken time out of your own day to do something nice for someone else.

This really depends on a whole bunch of things such as your own personal preference of learning, what subjects you might be taking, how you feel towards different styles of teaching, whether you learn better in a large group or small group of people, and some other things as well.

As with any school, Mac.Rob has a range of all different teachers that each have their own teaching style. Where some students may like a particular teacher’s style of teaching, another may absolutely detest it. So, it’s really about experiencing it and figuring out what’s best for you.

Many Mac.Rob students have tutors or do extra tuition but the reasons for each student will be different. For example, some may have tutors because they don’t find their teacher helpful or some might have a tutor simply to give them a greater edge and different perspective on some concepts.

We can’t really say much more than that but just remember that it is YOUR learning experience and whether or not you have a tutor is completely up to you so try your best to figure out how you learn best and that will ultimately give you the best idea on whether or not to have a tutor.

We’re sure the majority of teachers wouldn’t intentionally favour some girls over others just for the sake of doing so, what would they get out of doing that? Most teachers care about your wellbeing and are there to help you succeed in their fields. Unfortunately, like you observed, this may be happening with some teachers, and we’re sorry there isn’t much we can do about that.

Maybe that is just something that we have to accept, there is not really much point in mulling over something we cannot control. But if you really feel that you are being treated unfairly when you shouldn’t, there are still many people you can talk to, including your year level coordinator, counsellor, or even the principal. After all, that is what they are here for and I’m sure they’ll be willing to hear you out. Or if you can patch things up and address the school reps/captains/portfolio leaders themselves, we’re sure that as captains with a leadership role it is their responsibility to help you out and give equal opportunity, so having a chat with them might give you some feedback on why you might have missed out on something. Even if it’s simply as a reminder for them to be aware of how their actions are unfair towards students can help in making the experience at Mac.Rob better for everyone.

We have not heard of any of these claims, however we strongly suggest your friends talk to a year level coordinator, counsellor, or any trusted adult if they feel uncomfortable or know of incidents of this sort.
