he  could  SMELL    daybreak  before  it  even  made  room  to  spark  over  the  hills  .  so  he  knew  he  was  safe  enough  .  the  vampires  would  have  gone  back  to  their  hideouts  in  fear  that  they  would  accidentally get  hit  by  the  morning  rays  .  smart  move  .  left  oz  able  to  go  by  a  24/7  drive  by  to  grab  some  donuts  &&  coffee  .  checking  in  at  the  library  was  now  his  custom  go-to  before  going  home  .  make  sure  that  it  was  still  standing  ,  call  giles  &&  meet  up  with  the  others  .  turning  the  van  around  the  parking  lot  ,  oz  parked  up  ,  sticking  the  handbrake  on  &&  CUTTING  the  engine  . 

reaching  over  &&  grabbing  the  food  &&  drink  ,  oz  contemplated  leaving  the  crossbow  behind  -  vamps  didn’t  really  come  after  him  .  maybe  it  was  the  WEREWOLF  blood  .  after  giving  it  a  thought  ,  he  considered  it  was  better  safe  than  dead  ,  &&  grabbed  it  as  well  .  moving  his  way  into  the  school  &&  keeping  an  eye  open  .  getting  to  the  library  ,  he  OPENED  the  doors  &&  moved  towards  the  table  ,  setting  down  his  crossbow  &&  the  donuts  &&  food  before  pulling  off  his  jacket  &&  rolling  the  sleeves  to  his  sweater  up  his  arms  .  

after  a  moment  of  QUIET  ,  he  then  took  a  small  sniff  of  the  air  &&  gave  a  nod  ,  guiding  himself  over  to  giles’  office  where  he  found  tara  ,  sleeping  gently  amongst  a  pile  of  books  &&  some  peppermint  tea  beside  her  .  he  didn’t  immediately  move  to  wake  her  ,  reaching  instead  for  one  of  the  books  &&  reading  the  page  when  she  stirred  .  

looking  over  ,  he  raised  an  eyebrow  .  “  you  OKAY  ?  ”  he  asked  .

“ 𝐬𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐡𝐮𝐡 ? ” faith clicked her tongue as she moved to examine the fresh meat of the scooby gang . being kept away so long in a coma , faith was out of the loop , but also not worthy enough to ever be informed . so she watched from a distance , she hadn’t made the set decision to go to LA yet . “ 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐞𝐫 . ”

oz  wasn’t  a  STRANGER  to  the  individual  members  of  his  old  friend  group swinging  by  &&  talking  to  him  about  whatever  problem  they  were  going  through  .  frequently  he  had  xander  in  telling  him  about  his  fears  of  being  truly  committed  to  anya  (  who  oz  was  only  sort  of  aware  of  ,  he  hadn’t  known  her  very  well  )  buffy  was  around  too  now  &&  then  ,  after  she  FOUND  out  from  giles  that  he  was  back  in  town  &&  had  been  or  a  while  she  had  taken  to  coming  to  him  for  someone  just  to  listen  to  her  being  back  from  heaven  .  something  he  was  &&  always  had  been  good  at  was  listening  .  

having  tara  over  wasn’t  ...  UNUSUAL  .  just  from  the  outside  could  seem  very  strange  .  he  didn’t  mind  .  instead  ,  he  moved  across  his  apartment  two  teacups  in  hand  .  one  for  her  &&  one  for  him  as  she  sat  on  his  sofa  ,  legs  crossed  &&  quiet  as  ever  .

normally  their  CONVERSATIONS  would  run  on  the  topic  of  magic  .  though  oz  never  claimed  to  be  versed  in  it  ,  he  had  learned  a  lot  about  more  unusual  forms  of  the  word  .  &&  had  collected  a  weird  array  of  stuff  too  .  &&  normally  ,  magic  came  with  the  prospect  of  new  books  ,  new  TRANSLATIONS  &&  new  ideas  for  her  &&  willow  to  try  .  

but  today  ,  whilst  the  conversation  was  about  magic  ,  it  was  more  ...  more  on  the  bad  side  of  it  .  

passing  her  the  teacup ,  he  waited  to  sit  down  with  her  .  patient  &&  as  understanding  as  he  could  ever  be  .  he  then  spoke  .  “  tabula  rasa  ?  ”  he  confirmed  .  

“you know . . i was always told to stay away from witches. that they did the devils work, that they were evil but you . .”

curiosity fills her, and she momentarily stops speaking. drusilla drags a perfectly mannered nail down the other girl’s cheek. it didn’t cause a cut, drew no blood, and almost seemed sentimental. had it not been drusilla doing the deed, one might think she simply wanted to reach and feel the witch. 

the vampire backs up, hands clasping gracefully together at her waist as she takes in the full sight, eyes wondering as if she were an art piece simply for her to admire.                                

i read that last one as “look for car that oz is gonna chase” and went “haha dog joke”. so.
