i missed u man
billy banquo but his face is only eyes.
i love my followers
macbeth 2005 locker room scene trust and the denial of perceived truth letting someone touch you allowing tenderness after hardship not knowing what is right but believing in human goodness and loving or trying to love in spite of bad things on the horizon (I am on my deathbed surrounded by family)
god. anyway.

macchef. that’s all.
ISN’T IT LIKE. THE BEST WORST THING?
please elaborate about re-characterization!
IM GLAD YOU ASKED!! there’s actually a bunch of interesting ones, but my favorite to talk about is duncan, because they re-characterized him to be just. not the best guy, you know? in the original text he’s a kindly old man who acts as a father figure to macbeth, celebrating his victories, granting him the title of thane of cawdor, etc etc. it’s hard to twist that narrative for modern day, because murder is Not Really Common Anymore (thank god, right??), so mac2005 took duncan and changed him to be this guy who’s rich and self serving, who constantly flirts with joe’s wife, and who actively takes credit for the victories of the people working for him, so it’s a lot easier for ella to convince joe that, hey, maybe this man kind of has it coming?
there’s other instances too, with malcolm being less of a confident warrior seeking revenge and more of a kid who wants to do his father justice, or banquo’s character being mellowed out (and more of a foil to ella than to joe, as opposed to the original text), but duncan’s is the biggest one and it’s interesting to see how it shifts the character motivations and the narrative of the movie >:))
my mom got procreate on her ipad and if nobody tells me what to draw I default to mac2005
