I want to know so much more about this borrower in the fast food restaurant. Where does the lil guy sleep? There's less likely to be traditional household things to borrow but an *abundance* of food but also if you slip and fall that is *much more likely* to be a death sentence because hot oil and flames. Instead of one cooktop to be careful of its half a dozen. The place would be so hot too in the kitchen
Oh my Gosh I haven't thought about that story in ages! Uh, let's see... He sleeps in the walls, of course. Since a restaurant is the kind of place that gets cleaned top to bottom daily, he has to be creative with his mouse-holes. But there are still good places to have them.
And yeah, the selection of things to borrow from is quite different, but he has everything he needs. He steals spare uniforms for fabric and he knows how to get into the walk-in for fresh food. He just needs to be careful not to leave any evidence so the humans don't suspect mice.
This gets me thinking that I never quite nailed down what kind of restaurant Mac's is. I think I was imagining like a sub sandwich shop? No cooktops there, but there are toasters and ovens. Even so, I don't know if I want to set that in stone right now. Surely even if there are cooktops and deep fryers our borrower would be smart enough to keep away from those, right? I'd hope so...
