So much green, the brightness of the new leaves beginning to fade as they mature. Many house martins and swifts. And an enormous amount of butterflies, hundreds of them. The color of the midnight sky, more blue than the deep black of winter.
And the rivers of oat flowing down the mountain.
The singing of birds waking me in the morning. Everything from crows to blackbirds, with many others I sadly can't identify. The cry of cicadas. My kid neighbors playing in a pool, people talking into the night.
And leaves dancing in the wind.
Warm, and the earth after the rain. The smell that only comes when strong winds blow. And the smell of a lab, acetone and stale air.
The sweetest strawberries, the coolest watermelon and the softest flat peaches. My neighbors fresh eggs, with the tastiest yolks I've ever tasted. Cool chamomile and thyme tea, and a cup of coffee for the first time in months.
Rest, and restarted. Stopping after my third year in uni, and the mess it was, and finally stopping. Starting again, and dealing with more neck-pain that I would like. The sweat on my hands as I play guitar, or knit with my bad decision wool fiber.
Like my heart beating out of my chest as I lie down, waiting for the heat to leave my body and into the floor. Already wanting to get up again
