And Lennox didn’t do stupid. Not since she kicked the D.E.B.S. to the curb and swore herself to doing whatever it took to tear the whole damned shithole down to the ground. 

But that’s why she was here, wasn’t it? Why she was being stupid just this once.

Lennox took a deep breath, held it, then let it out as she pulled her sunglasses off.

“Hey.” She said, hating the way her throat started to choke up as she looked down at the tombstone. It wasn’t just the risk of the D.E.B.S. catching her here that had kept her away all these years.

Clearing her throat, Lennox clenched her jaw for a beat, then took another--shakier--breath. “So, I know I- I haven’t been around since the fu-”

Lennox let out an angry grunt as she shook her head hard. Damnit! she was stronger than this! Tougher! She wasn’t some broken little girl who couldn’t say a damn word.

Clearing her throat again, Lennox stomped her foot against the ground, her nostrils flared as she sucked in a deep breath.

“-Since that day. But I haven’t forgotten you.-” Lennox blinked twice, refusing to raise her hand to wipe away the tears now dripping down her cheeks. “-And I never will. I’m going to make them pay for what they did. I promise. And when I do-”

A bitter laugh that flirted with becoming a sob broke past Lennox’s lips.

“-You’re going to get tired of seeing me.”

Headcanon:

Her hand closed around the handle. “And when you throw a knife-” Lennox winked at her audience. With a quick flick of her wrist, she held now held it by the blade. in one fluid motion, her arm snaked back, then snapped forward. A solid thunk came from the other side of the room where the knife--now embedded into the wall several inches--had come to a stop.
