Sero blinked at the other. He was thoroughly mind-boggled about what he just watched, he would have had to be blind not to see what had just transpired. There was a cigarette hanging from the horned boy’s mouth one second and then absolutely nothing the next.

“D-did you just...did you just eat that- you know what? Nevermind.” If the other wanted to hide some stupid cigarette, which he was technically supposed to report but he didn’t care enough to do so, then that was his prerogative.

What day was it? Pocky day? Izuku seriously had lost track of the day, his busy schedule of hero work keeping him occupied. Maybe in afterthought he saw a few extra boxes of the treat out in shop windows and people were scrambling to get some before heading home. But Izuku just overlooked the two factors to put it together. 

Until, he saw is long time friend wiggling the treat between his teeth as if trying to entice him. All the thoughts came to one point and Izuku is already bright red with surprise and embarrassment. “ Kaneda! ” 

They were mostly alone outside the other’s apartment door, but Izuku still has that level of uncertainty as if he really shouldn’t show too much in public. And yet - he leans in, takes a bite of the snack and lets the other half hang loose in Kaneda’s mouth. 

INJURY STARTERS

Midoriya nodded, biting down on his lip. He wouldn’t lie- the throbbing pain from his shoulder was already something that bothered him, but Midoriya also knew he’d had worse in the past. He trusted Kaneda enough to pop it back into place and knew it’d only be temporary. Plus, it meant he’d skip a visit to Recovery Girl- who he knew was likely more than done with seeing the boy put himself through so many different injuries.
