Wife of MH370 flight attendant holds prayer, accepts fate
Intan Maizura Othman, the wife of a male steward on board the ill-fated Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH370, held a prayer session for the well-being of her husband’s soul last night.
She said Mohd Hazrin Mohamed Hasnan’s next-of-kin and family members should now calm down and accept this fact to move on with their lives.
“Before this, I have long been listening to news from various sources, including MAS itself, saying that all passengers and crew members had become ‘souls’.
“So when the government announced officially the fate of all those involved, I decided to have this prayer ceremony,” she told reporters after the ceremony last night.
Around 100 family members, friends, and neighbours attended the prayer ceremony, which was held after the Maghrib prayers at Masjid Alam Impian in Alam Impian near here.
On Thursday, the government had announced that the disappearance of Flight MH370 was officially declared as an accident under international aviation regulations and all 239 passengers and crew members were presumed dead.
The Boeing 777 plane vanished from radar scanners during its journey from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, around an hour after taking off from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on March 8 last year.
It was scheduled to arrive at Beijing at 6.30am the same day.
