Very thankful to have been invited to facilitate the post-show chat yesterday with Rachel Erdos and the dancers of "Q&A (36 Questions)" who had a wonderful 2-days run in the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival (@m1sff ) at the @esplanadesingapore I was very moved by this powerful work. It reminded us of what it means to be human and our inherent desire to connect. Inspired by 36 questions formulated by a scientist in the late 70s, you would have gathered that these are basic questions you would ask people you love. But when you hear these questions being vocalised, e.g. "do you have a hunch on how you are going to die?" / "tell me about your mother", you know that these aren't typical questions have conversations about. Coupled by the finesse and technical competency of the four dancers, we were invited to toggle between becoming active participants and spectators to their lives. I felt the ending was befitting, bringing strangers and friends to sit directly infront of each other and look into each other's eyes for 4mins. I remembered doing this exercise before and I realised how something so simple is not usually done. To just look into the eyes of another and to accept that we are being invited to look into another person's life. To accept that this "person" is in fact, and most importantly, a human being. Priceless. #soultari #365soulgrateful #m1sff2019 #bhumicollective #soul2019grateful (at Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtHoA2GhzoSpaTkIOTgdz7KE8-Xr_29xgQAkAI0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=wlrmdm5u4ljx
