Please fucking listen to this
That was a fine Pokemon movie, honestly going in with no expectations I was surprised I wasn't bored to tears halfway through like most post AG movies. It's falls into the usual traps most recent movies have with the main characters having no role or development in the story and only act as bystanders to the plot, with Ash mostly doing the leg work and I'm tired of that, but I will say I find Hoopa's role kind of refreshing because past Pokemon movies have "big scary legendary Pokemon" and "cute small legendary Pokemon" share a movie while here they're one in the same and the movie is about the relationship shared between the two and that was cool, it's at least different. Hoopa himself is a very fun character and the lore with Arceus was really interesting. Of course the big legendary fight was fanservicy as all hell and makes no sense but fuck it I'm a child so I enjoyed it, it's such mindless entertainment but at least I was being entertained, with Pokemon movies that's kinda the best I can hope for of I can't get thought provoking writing anythime soon. And there's this tiny fanboy glee I get from seeing Ash command those legendaries. So..i guess I kinda liked it, but in a shallow way, probably the most fun to watch Pokemon movie in a long time
