@3objectives sent: ❝ it’s time for things to change. ❞
Change can be good, change is necessary - but in Vi's experience change is also fucking scary. It usually comes with a shitton of violence and almost certain loss; loss of a loved one, loss of community, loss of any resemblance of normalcy or any remnants of what your life was like up until then. She would like to say that she isn't afraid of change, but so far everytime someone she cared for fought for change, she lost them. One way or another - to someone's bullet, or to themselves. (And everytime she fought for it, it somehow came around to bite her in the ass.)
It has been time for things to change for as long a she remembers. Growing up in crime-riddled streets taught her nothing if not that injustice runs deeper than anything else in Piltover and Zaun, almost as if it's a part of the very fabric that makes up civilization. No matter who's in charge or who people look to, the suffering never ends. There are always those who are forgotten, neglected and exploited and the only change that seems to come around is that every now and then their shitty hands are dealt anew.
"What if we're incapable of change?" Vi responds without turning to Caitlyn, her eyes fixed on the flames dancing in the fireplace. She doesn't mean to dampen the optimism, but tonight doubt and exhaustion win the match. "Nothing ever changes." Not for the better, not for long. "All we do is lose, even when we win."
Vi brings a hand up to rub her face. "Sorry.. I need a nap or, something."
