hi ! hello! my take on courtney is mostly based on her pre-new-52 portrayal w/ a bit of characterisation/plot taken from the new dc universe show, stargirl (please watch if you haven’t it’s so cute .... ) i’ll be keeping spoilers for the show minimal as i’m also not actually caught up yet ! this is vvvvv brief bc i didn’t want to ramble but anyways like this n i’ll bother you 4 plots ^.^

courtney elizabeth whitmore --    it’s her mothers last name.   her father?  not even worth the breath to spell out his name. he was a low life, gambling crook of a man that abandoned courtney and barbara on christmas day when courtney was only six -- - and like most kids, it left her with some pretty severe daddy issues.

courtney grew up with spunk in sunny california, she was a gymnast aiming for nationals and she sure as hell wasn’t popular, but she did have a few close friends -- which was all thrown in the dumpster when her mum married some dude named pat!! and moved her out to nebraska

courtney hated pat, her new step-dad. and she hated nebraska even more. picking more fights than she could handle, getting detention on her first day -- she was just not fitting in.

so she tried to get herself out .... by digging up dirt on pat to convince her mum to divorce him and move them back to cali. and boy did she find dirt -- that pat used to be a super hero.

no-- not a hero--! a SIDEKICK. and to a 15 year old no less!!! who was now dead ... courtney  “ borrowed “ the gear of the late star spangled kid,  and went on a joy ride around town ... to unwittingly discover a super villain organisation in their infancy stages of a global plan to take over the world. 

pat gave in and let court take over the star spangled kid mantle -- and later the stargirl title after starmans retirement -- and she saved blue valley from the wrath of the dragon king.

she’s currently a member of the justice society of america, holding the legacy titles of both starman and the star spangled kid. whilst no longer considered a junior member, she’s often looked down upon as a kid due to being one of the youngest members.

courtney for the most part is your standard all american teenage girl. down to the frizzy blonde hair and braces. she wasn’t born with any powers, and became a super hero out of selfish means. however, she continued to fight due to her intense desire to save people and often laments that she’s unable to help people until they’re in danger.

heya, folks !  my name’s ev, and i’m here to bring y’all a certain trickster god. i usually write a 100% comics / earth-616 based loki, but in trying to keep with the group’s plot, i’m going to basically be combining the mcu with the comics for their backstory while my actual portrayal will be based a lot more off the comics. basically, uh, loki’s going to be maybe 20% mcu and 80% comics? something like that?

BASICS

BACKSTORY

i can only assume that everyone knows the mcu, especially where loki’s concerned, so i’m going to ever-so slightly gloss over those events and really talk about where things are going to intersect with the comics.

so. loki. son of laufey, king of the frost giants. loki ends up being taken from jotunheim and raised alongside thor, the son of odin, who’s the king of asgard. loki is fully aware that he is adopted and he remembers certain things about his life prior to being brought to asgard, mainly that he is a frost giant and that laufey was (physically) abusive to him.

events of thor 1 happen mostly the same as in the mcu, the only major difference being that loki, yknow, knows he’s a frost giant and adopted. so him being lied to like that was never a thing. but he’s still pissed about being the second son and not worthy and all that. avengers 1 is also largely the same (though i ... disagree with loki being controlled by the mind stone or whatever that whole thing was. influenced, sure. controlled, absolutely not.).

the dark world is where things are going to veer straight into the comics. mostly in that when loki "died” to save jane, he actually did die. but, loki being loki, isn’t going to stay dead for long and he winds up being reincarnated as a child, also known as kid loki. 

kid loki is basically what loki could have and should have been, if he’d been good rather than evil. but alas, he winds up being haunted, for lack of a better term, by a ghost/copy/echo of the previous loki.

the echo is known as ikol, and long story made very short, he murders kid loki and steals his body. no one aside from loki knows about the murder, either. but now ikol is loki, and everyone thinks they’re still the second loki, still kid loki. it was really tragic, everyone was crying.

so loki, the third loki now, is essentially caught between the two lokis - two different stories pulling at them and changing them. one saying that loki can be good, at least sort of, and one saying that loki’s still and only going to be evil. loki eventually winds up on a path wanting a redemption arc, and it goes moderately okay for a time, before shit hits the fan in a colossal way.

long story made short once again, loki finds out that their destiny, the guaranteed future in store for them, is ... to always be the villain, and that no matter how they try to change and redeem themself, the asgardians will never trust them, much less love or accept them. and along the course of loki finding this out, the truth about kid loki comes out as well. loki is consequently banished from asgard and kinda sorta disowned?

anyway

loki’s basically winds up being given a choice - to either accept that all they’ll ever be is a villain, or they can kill themself. but they choose neither of those, and instead make a third option, which is basically to... rewrite themself a happy ending. and since their happiness / why they always wind up the villain largely hinges on what other people expect of them and what other people think about them, they basically just... don’t care - can’t care - that other people (cough the asgardians cough), distrust them, don’t like them, and don’t accept them.

and now we’re gonna be getting back into the mcu. loki’s living on earth, just vibing when i guess thor shows up? and we get the events of ragnarok, then infinity war(if that’s part of the plot here?). except loki doesn’t really quite die, this time they did fake their death and just kinda. go back to living on earth - specifically in new york city - and avoiding most everyone that might know who they really are.

EXTRA

in regards to their patronym - laufeyson vs odinson - loki will very very rarely use either of them. laufeyson / laufeysdottir is what they’re more likely to use if one is needed, mostly for dramatic effect (ie, “i am loki, son of laufey. the prince of asgard. the lord of lies, and the god of stories.”), while odinson / odinsdottir is almost exclusively used if they’re including themself with their siblings (ie, referring to thor and themself as odinsons, or hela and themself as odinsdottirs). in general, though, they prefer to be just loki.

Powers: Super Soldier Physiology (enhanced senses especially of hearing and smell, enhanced agility, enhanced durability, enhanced reflexes, enhanced speed, enhanced stamina, enhanced strength), enhanced intellect, and accelerated healing.

P A S T

Slade Wilson was born on █████████ █████████ ████████  in █████████ ████████ to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson. His mother was ❝weak❞, he said, and his father abandoned him as a child. His father, Charles Wilson, a former CIA agent, was believed to be on a mission, but no record of the mission was ever recorded, nor found. Charles was later found to have defected to the ██████ ██ █████████. Charles had become something called Odysseus. Slade found him and killed him, years later. Slade still believes his father left because he chose to, and Slade doesn’t seem to remember his brother.

Slade has shown in his mentality and personality, that he is an individual capable of looking out for themselves. His father’s abandonment and unstable home, may be why, but it’s not conclusive. Slade may have always been selfish yet independent. However it may be, Slade Wilson was determined to enlist in the U.S. Army. Later, it is found Slade had lied about his age on his papers, and ran away from home. Instead of him being discharged, he was told to stay. His talents and skills in guerrilla warfare were far superior than any other soldier. He was tested over and over and over and promoted over and over by his superiors.

His ex-wife, Adeline Kane Wilson, was an Army Squadron Leader and instructor, who eventually trained Slade and took him under her wing. He impressed her, demonstrating his combat and skills, while high marks by Kane were left in this profile. In surveillance, you can see his fighting style sometimes resembles Kane’s style. His fighting style is either influenced or taken directly from Kane. What we did not anticipate was how dangerous their relationship would be. Slade would be promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, and sometime later Slade and Kane █████ ████ ██ ████ and marry. They would divorce, we don’t know why.

His first son, Grant Wilson, would become the first recorded Ravager. We’re not sure what happened, other than Slade finished his contract, and Grant was killed. The death of his son clearly affects him, to the point that he won’t talk about it. His second son, Joseph Wilson, also appears to be a heavy subject, but he appears to be more willing to talk about Joseph. ❝Joey❞ he said, in a psychological evaluation. Joseph Wilson is mute. Maybe Slade had something to do with Joseph’s disability….we don’t know. But Slade has shown signs of guilt, for both his sons. Grant and Joseph Wilson are children from his first marriage to Adeline Kane.

Slade’s daugther, Rose Wilson, was born out of wedlock. Her mother, ███████ █████, Slade appeared to have an affair with, while on assignment. He won’t say he abandoned Rose, most likely because of the comparison to his father, but he did abandon her. Because she was raised without her father. Rose would go on to take up the mantle as Ravager. We don’t know how many there are. From surveillance, she is the only one of his kids he communicates with, the most. They don’t always get along, or not at all, understandably. Slade appears to have a disconnect with his children. Just as he is disconnected with everyone else.

Slade was a good soldier. Excellent soldier. The perfect soldier. The Army asked him to volunteer for a secret medical experiment that was said to be a defense against the enemy’s Truth Serum. He agreed. It was really our attempt to make metahuman super-soldiers. He was lied to - but he was the perfect candidate. Something else we hadn’t anticipated: a violent response to the serum. It broke his mind and body, then built him back up. Stronger than before. But that would happen later. The immediate results were Slade’s more aggressive, violent, and enraged behavior. This aggression would remain with him, long after the experiment ended. Slade would go on to continue this as Deathstroke…

We deemed the experiment a failure, and Slade was limited to a desk job. We continued to monitor him, but what was the point? We thought. Our experiment had failed, until he started to show signs that it hadn’t. Enhanced, to a human’s peak, we did it. We did it. Accelerated healing helped to heal what else was left, and out perfect soldier was made even better. Slade’s enhanced mind allowed him to use 90% of his brain, and he has shown it’s use when he fights several enemies at once and uses tactical planning for his contract kills. We made a weapon…that even we could not handle. His mind remained broken. Even though we made him smarter, his mental stability, emotionally, crumbled. We wouldn’t call it crazy, but we’d call it violent. All Slade has now is aggression, a violent streak, and blood lust. He still has some sort of sense of humor, but we would highly advise to stay away from this man. He is unstable. We’re not sure if humor or violence will unleash out of him, at anytime.

We’re not sure what happened after that. We were told Slade was discharged, disobeying orders, trying to save another soldier. Wintergreen, his friend. Slade disappeared after, becoming what we only know now as Deathstroke.

P R E S E N T

We now have somewhat of a picture of what Slade has been up to. He’s made several enemies of heroes and villains, in Gotham alone, and has spent time with the League of Assassins. Physically, he’s gotten better. Mentally, he’s gotten worse.

for the most part, i follow the comic canon for babs – both pre-reboot and post, with slight alterations to make it work, along with a few other bits of media.

she is the daughter of gotham police commissioner james ‘jim’ gordon and barbara kean, as well as the older sister of james gordon jr. their mother left the family when she was 13, and though babs didn’t know it at the time, it was because her younger brother was showing early signs of what would later reveal him to be a serial killer. ( i.e. he killed her cat, though her mother told her it was hit by a car. ) later, as a teenager, babs would bring a friend along on camping trip and her friend would go missing. as an adult, james jr. would reveal that he’d killed her.

early in bruce’s career as batman, and shortly after dick had become robin, babs was hearing about batman regularly from her father – and most importantly how much he was a pain for the police. so after a disagreement with jim, a teenage barbara thought it would be hilarious to go to the costume party fundraiser for the police department dressed as the bat. but when the event was actually attacked, she instinctively stepped up to help and felt it so natural to her that she took up the mantle of batgirl – much to bruce’s initial disagreement. she eventually won him over. although, babs did differ from the robin’s, as she often set out on her own and looked to the batman for guidance as opposed to direct tutelage.

at just twenty years old, barbara was shot and paralyzed. she’d already temporarily retired from her life as batgirl to focus on college, but on a day home visiting her father, she’d become the target of the joker who was set in a mission to torture her father. although, that’s all i really want to say because we don’t need to talk about how gross the killing joke is.

she found a new strength in herself and rebuilt her vigilante lifestyle as oracle, the eyes and ears for all superheroes. aside from her natural crime-fighting abilities, barbara is a well established genius – with a niche in computer hacking and pattern finding. she became the founder of the birds of prey with the black canary and a member of the justice league.

eventually, her father would find an experimental surgery that gave barbara the chance to walk again by planting a chip in her brain. though she was content and fulfilled in her life regardless of her wheelchair, she could see the guilt her father carried over what happened to her and hoped that the surgery would alleviate that for him.
