- leo had always longed to be accepted into the human world.

- he especially longed for a real, human partner.

- originally, you noticed his eyes were set on your close friend since the fifth grade, april o’neil.

- but ever since april introduced you, he shortly and quickly fell under the your spell.

- it started with you simply helping him catch up on all the schoolwork he had missed and showing him the ins and outs of human school.

- then he started to realize how much he liked your laugh.

- how much you showed interest in him and his personality.

- and the way you smiled so gently at him.

- you never once mentioned his appearance and just showed him so much warmth and kindness.

- he started to look at you with a sparkle in his eyes.

- you didn’t expect your love interest to be a mutant turtle, but you couldn’t deny your developing crush on him, either.

- with a prom being right around the corner, he knew this was his chance.

- he planned so long with his brothers and researched on how to ask you, and now it was time.

‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾. the prom proposal ‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.

You were never a huge morning person. You stared at the books in your locker with a groggy feeling as you slowly closed it shut. It was almost time for your first class, you had yet to see any of your friends so far this morning.

But what you did see was a tall, dark haired boy whose locker was close to yours hand a blonde haired girl a bouquet of roses shaped like a heart, with a poster board in hand that read “prom?” in pink marker. The blonde girl clasped her hands over her mouth as she borderline knocked him over with a jump/hug.

You stared for a moment before turning away, doing your best to act like you didn’t completely forget prom was this week. You had been so busy with spending time with april and the turtles, especially assisting leo with school, that you had completely forgotten about this pivotal experience in your school life called prom.

Just as you were walking, lost in thought, your familiar friend, April, playfully latched to your shoulder. “Why hello, sleepyhead”, she said in a sarcastic tone, but kept a warm smile on her face.

It took you a minute to notice the white flowers and card she held with her spare hand that wasn’t on your shoulder. “Wow, it’s Monday and you already got asked.” you said with a giggle, you’ve always known April to not be much of a romantic kind of girl.

She glanced at the flowers and card and gave you a satisfied smile. She told you about how this guy you knew she’d been talking to, Joshua, had asked her first thing this morning.

You sighed and said nothing but kept a smile on your face as you walked with your friend. “What about you? I know you must have a line of people by now” she chuckled and looked at your expression. You scratched the back of your neck “well, uh, to be honest, I kinda forgot about prom” you looked at the floor, “I mean, it’s not like anyone has asked me anyways, not surprising.”

April rolled her eyes, she never approved of you talking down on yourself.

Once you two had reached your next class, it seemed like a sudden burst of energy had overcome her as she leaped in front of you. “Hey! I forgot to tell you, me and the guys are providing lunch today, and your included, okay see you then!” she waved as she abnormally ran away from you.

You blinked, looked at your lunch bag and just smiled to yourself.

When the thought of leo handing you lunch popped into your mind, a noticeable red hue spread across your face as you marched into your first class.

‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.

You walked into the lunch room, still a bit tired, but excited to see all your friends at once. For some reason, you have yet to see any of the turtles so far today, but april said they were providing lunch, so you figured they must be here.

You walked over to the table you all usually occupy and sat in your usual seat. You began to look around in confusion, normally the turtle boys are here long before you. You, however, shrugged and waited.

Finally, the boys came in first, talking amongst each other. But once they seen you, you noticed how they looked at you while sneaking whispers into the other’s ears, smiles plastering all their faces.

That was when you noticed one turtle was missing, the one you were most familiar with, leonardo.

The boys took their seats close to you. “What’s up, y/n. We have the most banger lunch today! Leo went to go grab it for us.” mikey exclaimed as he rubbed his palms together in excitement.

Donnie pulled his head forward to put you in his line of vision as he pushes up his glasses briefly, “S-So, um, y/n, have you got any prom-posals today? They seem to be everywhere already”, he said with almost a sly grin.

“Ah, no, no actually I haven’t, but it’s okay though, I’m sure either I can tag along with you guys, or third wheel with april”, you chuckled as you pointed at your friend april, who quickly took her seat next to you.

Raphael laid his head on his palm with the same sly smile donnie had, “Well, since we’re mourning your loneliness in not having a date already, we’re going to let you have the first pizza slice”, the words sounded harsh but you and the boys always joked like that, you rolled your eyes, “oh, is that so?”.

“Well, we gotta make you feel better somehow”, the voice from behind you said. Although you already knew who the voice belonged to, you turned your head to see leonardo, smiling down at you with a pizza box in hand.

You noticed something though when you looked at him. He seemed to be a little tense, his eyes looked warm but scared and he had the hint of sweat around his forehead and temples.

“Aw, leo, I missed you!”, your enthusiasm coupled with those words made him noticeable tense up more. He cleared his throat as he leaned the pizza box towards you, still standing. “W-Well, you get the first piece, right? S-So, here.”, he motions the box towards you, his arms shaking slightly.

You gave a soft smile and lifted the box open as his hands move to allow to do so. You paused as you pulled it open to see words written on the inside of the box under the top in marker that said: ‘I hope this isn’t too cheesy, but…’

Your eyes moved to the pizza that had the word ‘prom?’ spelled out in peppironis. You couldn’t help but allow your mouth to hang open as you looked at leo and laughed. It was absolutely adorable to you.

He looked at you with a nervous smile, “Y/N, I didn’t expect to like you as much as I do, but I think you’re really cool, and funny, and smart, a-and, let me take you? Please?”, he shyly hid behind the pizza box slightly as he looked at you, yearning for an answer.

You gave him a bright smile, one that made him weak in the knees, as you stood up and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. He drops the pizza in shock, you giggled at him and gave him a tender hug as he hugged you back, hands shaking ever so slightly.

You could hear people clapping, but the loudest one was april, who clapped and cheered like a football fan watching their favorite player dart towards a touchdown.

You and leo held each other in your arms and looked into the others eyes, you loved seeing this genuine smile that he had on his face whenever he was around you or talking to you.

There was only one person who wasn’t celebrating at all, and that turtle was mikey. “The pizzaaaaaa!”, he exclaimed as he dramatically dropped to the ground to mourn the promposal pizza.
