This isn’t exactly a Knuckles headcanon although it does involve him but my reasoning for super form colors is it’s normally platinum yellow, but ever since sonic came in contact with the super emeralds his has been gold. Pink is reserved for guardians of Emeralds, like Blaze and Knuckles

Oh. So they have it because they have it in the games!
Since the Battle areas took place in the post game I can see why the final challengers in the game would have legendaries, given how hard it is to reach them. I never did with any of them.
And given that these are supposedly some of the most skilled trainers that aren’t dex holders it makes sense for them to have some legendaries.
Anyway i’m glad they have legendaries, it’s nice to see more of them.
