I think I am finally clean.” My birthday is coming up on the 13th, For my 24th birthday, I decided to gift myself by getting a tattoo of a song that has gotten me through so much. “Clean” is so important to me, and it was even more meaningful having it in Taylor Swift’s hand writing. Clean is about recovery. It’s about love and loss and heartbreak and healing. It’s about getting back up after you didn’t think you could. Sometimes it takes longer than you expect. My 23rd year of life was amazing the first 6 months, the last 6 months were probably what started out as the best that turned into the worst that no one should ever have to go through. And I’m always going to remember for the rest of my life. Everyday is still a struggle, but everyday I’m unlearning and letting go of the toxic ways and feelings that I learned. Everyday I’m learning to love myself again, and finding myself again. Im still recovering, but this is a reminder that I will come back stronger, and I will be wiser than ever.
