so after a devastating diagnosis 5 months ago of both lipedema and lymphedema after i'd been terrified of having either of them, i was in a really bad place about my body and my dreams for a long time. the physical therapist at the clinic told me we'd work on the lymphedema first, as it was something we could do without surgical intervention, and it was the more dire of the two
i was given custom-made compression socks, and i wore them every day for 8 hours a day without fail for the last 3 months. i splurged on a vibration board and use it for 2-5 minutes every morning. i even bought a medium body brush and studied the lymphatic system and began to body brush every morning after my shower
it became a part of life, just a part of my routine. i worked so hard at it, i put so much focus into it and time. and yesterday i went in for my SOZO re-scan to measure how bad the fluid level was in my legs this time, after all that work. i was pretty positive, given the state of me right now with violent, chronic insomnia and a long-lasting fibromyalgia flare-up for months, that it was going to be worse
as it turns out - it was the opposite
i have completely reversed my lymphedema. my right leg is 100% in the clear, back in the green, out of the red zone. my left leg is 0.1 above the green, so basically there as well, from where it was previously fairly deep in the red zone of measured fluid buildup. my therapist was ecstatic, and shocked, because it's just so uncommon to see a complete reversal like that in only a few months
i am beside myself and i've been crying on and off with relief since the results. because it worked. nothing ever works for me, no matter how hard i work at it, i never see this kind of result ever -- and to finally have something go right felt like the most incredible victory. i'm so happy, i can't even believe it
so now it's time to be happy for a little while, and enjoy the fact that i can do it. and if i can do that, maybe i can do anything after all
