And I don’t recognise my neighbour yet And I don’t recognise the sacred I feel lost, I feel weird I feel the rainclouds overhead North seems south, lungs feel black Have I really lost it? I wanna go back And I don’t know why I can’t just relax And I don’t know why time is crawling And I don’t know why I down-play my pride And I don’t know why I get stage fright I can’t remember why, I don’t know how This is what I’m doing now Head in the dark, hand on heart We’re gonna make it out now and turn it into art And somewhere deep inside I hold my breath And when I’m on my knees I thank my legs And I don’t know what’s holding me upright ‘cause I don’t recognise the sacred Lydia Cole, 2019
