A weekly luncheon club, games, fun activities and regular outings allow people to connect over common interests and a common language.Ā A team of volunteers from local Chinese communities are available to befriend and support some of the most isolated and vulnerable people around the city, greeting them with open arms and a smile that says, āCome dine with me.ā One member said that coming to the group gives him more confidence, helps him sleep better at night, and makes him feel generally happier overall. Time to Shine is managed by Leeds Older Peopleās Forum (LOPF) and funded by Big Lottery Fundās Ageing Better programme to reduce social isolation and loneliness amongst people over 50.
