ellamae would recognize his face anywhere. his face was seared into her memory and would never leave. and her blood ran cold and heart felt like it stopped.

once upon a time he had been her hero. her everything. ellamae had looked up to him so much and thought the world of him.
that was over now.
the gunslinger sat at the bar, signalling for a drink. she was going to need a stiff one tonight. she struggled to swallow the lump in her throat.
but a part of ellamae wanted to talk to him. so she turned on her charm. she turned on her pleasantries and gave him a hopefully welcoming smile, despite feeling like she was eight years old again and waiting for her daddy to come home.
