So with Alear’s reclassing, they would have only one other weapon (or staff) beside swords. No they are not using every single weapon, that would be overpowered. But yeah, Alear’s growths would change based off the weapon chosen, like more Magic and Resistance for tomes, more Strength and Defense for axes, more Dexterity and Speed for bows, etc.
Oh, I see what you mean now. Like how there's Sword Paladin, Axe Paladin, and Lance Paladin for example, just make each one for Alear have the same name but different growths

Oh another interesting thing about axes is in the remakes of FE1, FE2 and FE3.
In the DS remakes of FE1 and FE3, they not only massively improved axes and gave promotions to both Figther and Pirate, they even added obtainable axes and axe using characters in the remake of FE3 where there weren't axes before!
Whilst in the 3DS remake of FE3, they kept axes as enemy exclusive. Both are interesting decisions!
And I can't really fault either. The only thing I can really say is odd is just a lack of consistency with the DS adding axe usage for players but the 3DS staying more faithful to the original
Oh the first game with casual mode wasn't Awakening, it was the DS remake of Mystery of the Emblem, the third game, known as "New Mystery of the Emblem: Heroes of Light and Shadow".
Though the game wasn't released out of japan, even though there are complete fan translations.
Oh yeah, I forgot all about New Mystery. Dunno why it was Japan-Exclusive.
